Went to some guy who was not the main barber and he irreparably botched my hair. Was very specific about 1” trim and showed reference pictures but that didn’t stop him proceeding to cut off 6” of my hair all around. Absolute nightmare. Scam for $85. Hire good barbers that actually pay attention to clients if youre going to charge top dollar.

Jovid is the best barber I’ve had in NYC, been going to him for 3 years now and he’s never steered me wrong. He does a great job with curly hair and hospitality is top notch.

Before I found Jovid in 2018, it was a real struggle to find a good barber. I have a widow’s peak, and most barbers just cut hair the same way for everyone, without considering individual features. Jovid was the first to really pay attention to detail and tailor the haircut to suit my hairline and face shape. When he moved from Bed-Stuy to open his new shop at 248 Briggs, I followed him without hesitation. Now I get my haircuts from his coworker Arthur, who is just as precise and talented. Both Jovid and Arthur are incredibly detail-oriented and consistently deliver amazing results. After 7 years as a client, I can confidently say this is the best barber experience I’ve ever had.

Amazing experience! Arthur is a true professional — friendly, attentive, and incredibly skilled. I’ve never had such a precise and stylish haircut before. The whole vibe of the barbershop is top-notch. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Jovid is a top tier barber with a wealth of expertise. As someone with very thick, coarse hair, it can be an extreme challenge to find someone who can consistently do such a phenomenal job, but Jovid knocks it out of the park each time. He is thoughtful, attentive, and professional. I’ve been thoroughly pleased with the quality of cuts I’ve received over the last six months, especially with how well they grow out between each appointment. If you’re reading this, you were likely in the same position I was - looking for a new barber and unsure if I should trust the reviews. Jovid is a great barber, and well worth taking the leap of faith. He helps me look and feel my best.

I had my first haircut with Jovid today and he did an amazing job. He spent a lot of time getting all the details right which I really appreciated. As I've aged, my hair has gotten thinner on the top so I don't have too many expectations about what can be done, but he still managed to do something cool and different. He's very talented and gives a lot of thought to what he is doing. Plus he's very personable. If you are looking for a great haircut and a great experience, give 248 and Jovid a try. You won't be disappointed!

I had Jovid cut my hair a few times now. Some of the best haircuts I've ever gotten. I showed him a bunch of photo of past haircuts and he also had great ideas about what new things were feasible to try with my hair type.

Jovid is the best! I've been to quite a few barbershops in NYC, and finally I've found THE ONE. I trust Jovid fully when it comes to my haircut, and he's super friendly. He's been cutting hair for over 15 years, and his expertise shows. Love the vibe of their shop as well!

WoW! ✨✨A new barber shop opened up in the neighborhood! I found out about it by just passing by it. 😀 My husband needed a haircut last minute. We took the opportunity and didn't regret it. Jovid is professional and knows what he's doing. My husband’s hair is coarse and difficult to style it. But Jovid recommended what needs to be done and he was right. Absolutely recommend this place!!! I enjoyed being there and the atmosphere was very pleasant. A huge plus for Design and the playlist 👌

Jovid has been my go to stylist since 2017 (!?!) where he previously worked at Men’s Best Haircut. He recently opened his own shop in an airy new space near McCarren Park. Aside from consistently crafting impeccable cuts, what sets Jovid apart is the fact that he listens to what you want, and is able to execute and style as instructed, or offer alternate suggestions when you need to be talked off the ledge from a less than stellar idea. Highest recommendations! 💇🏻♂️ Protip: make an appointment in advance since he might not always be able to accommodate last minute walk-ins.
