I am extremely disappointed. My 6-year-old son, who is on the autism spectrum, was denied a haircut the moment he sat in the chair after we waited almost an hour. This is a barbershop we’ve come to before, and my son has gotten haircuts here successfully. The barber who used to cut his hair no longer works here, so we decided to try someone else, assuming there would be some basic understanding or patience especially since my son may move or make noise at first. With a little compassion and time, he does get his haircut. Instead, the barber said “no” immediately after my son made a noise. No attempt, no patience, no kindness just refusal. Denying service to a child with special needs because he needs a little extra patience is heartbreaking. Children on the spectrum deserve respect and understanding, not rejection. I hope this shop seriously reflects on how they treat families like mine .

Barber didn't speak English well so when I showed him a picture of what I wanted and explained what I wanted, he didn't understand. He kept asking me the same questions about what I wanted repeatedly and when I was going to show him the picture again he stopped me and said yes yes like he understood and like I was annoying him with trying to show him what I wanted from the picture. He messed up my side burns mustache and goatee and when I told him to shape up the top he got upset and said he had somewhere to be and I was holding him back. This was at 9:30 a.m and they open at 9 a.m. When he was finished he didn't use alcohol on my face and head after the line up and shave as an antiseptic and then proceeded to tell me I didn't tell him what I wanted and I never mentioned I wanted my hair cut and shaped up as well in a condescending manner. I tried explaining to him that that's what I was trying to do when I was trying to show him the picture and he kept interrupting me and stopping me like I was annoying him and instead of being understanding and apologizing thus gaining a new customer he kept being defensive and confrontational. I was charged $40 the most ever for a haircut that I didn't want or like. I went to the bank and on the way back I looked inside and he was sitting on his chair in an empty barber shop after he rudely told me he had somewhere to be. I eventually found a better shop to go to on E43st near Ave D called Universal Styles. They have excellent barbers who actually know how to cut hair and they have $7 and $10 haircut specials. Highly recommend them instead of Pro MX Barber Shop.

A great barber. They give pretty good cuts for a great price. The've rarely been crowded when I went by, but I go pretty randomly. They're all very nice, and don't get distracted every 20 seconds

After being mutilated by a barber in Upstate NY, I came here and was given the best haircut and treatment by a young Latino bro who rapped. He was amazing! He fixed my haircut and I got a free concert. This place is phenomenal! I wish I knew his name because he deserves all his flowers. Definitely a satisfied customer.

Mr G is a Godsend. My son is blind and Mr. G was very patient with him, I was very relieved. I'm definitely going back!

The guy in the back on the left is super slow and overall a few of the men here are sexist and extremely bias. I wanted for a barber for 3hrs and he kept telling me he had 2 more then it went to 3 more then as soon as a men walked in he took him. My son has been coming here since a child and the experience I had two days ago was terrible. I believed they treated me with such disregard because I was a female. When my son finally did get his cut it was unsatisfactory. I'm going to file a complaint with this company because as a 10yr customer, this is unacceptable.
