Fantastic service. Seriously. A.T. Cut my hair making sure I was happy with every step and every decision. I'm someone who was looking for specialization in Slavic type of hair and this barber shop delivered! There are a lot of barber shops in the area but this one is definitely the best.

Great barbershop! I've been to this barbershop 10 times in a row now, and every single visit has been top-notch. The service is always reliable, professional, and friendly. Today I had the pleasure of getting my haircut with Yana, and she absolutely nailed it. She's a true pro—listened carefully, worked with precision, and delivered exactly the look I had in mind. Highly recommend this place, especially if you're after consistent quality and skilled barbers like Yana!

This unassuming barbershop is a neighborhood gem. Owner AT is not only an excellent barber but also a genuinely kind person. He and his team—Leon, Victor, Yana, and the rest—make everyone feel welcome.

Leon is a king! Got a great haircut, had an absolute blast talking to him, and the massage is epic. This is my new go-to barber, easy to find and IMO a great price. Make sure you take some time to talk about life and all the amazing things Leon has seen over the years, makes this more than just a haircut. Brooklyn Gold.

I've been coming to this barbershop since before the remodel and have consistently had great hair and beard cuts. Today's cut with Victor was a strange experience. While the final result was fine, the process was uncomfortable. His constant jerky, flashy motions—many of which seemed purely for show—caused physical discomfort when they made contact with my head. The scissor spinning, in particular, was unsettling. I just need a haircut not a show. I initially chalked it up to a style that just didn’t suit me. In the past, the owner assured me he only hires good barbers, but now I question his judgement. I was ready to move on, but when I went to stamp my nearly full loyalty card (just two cuts from a free one), I was told it had expired and needed to be thrown out. Instead, they “generously” offered two starter stamps on a new one. Perhaps others feel comfortable with expiring loyalty programs, but I find the practice inherently disloyal to customers. I told them to keep it and left. I don’t plan to return. I’m frustrated to lose a barbershop I once considered reliable with decent barbers. Maybe I’m overreacting, but I genuinely wish I’d just stayed home and cut my own hair. edit: Hey AT, thanks for the reply. I hoped this was clear in my review, but I don't know if the haircut really needs fixing. I have a bad eye for that sort of thing. As far as I could tell it looked fine. I just didn't appreciate the strange behavior of Victor during the haircut. Nonetheless, I appreciate the offer to fix it. I also appreciate your assurance that the problem will be addressed. Ill consider coming back when I need a haircut again. It'd be good if you would simply assign loyalty cards without an expiration date. I'll adjust the rating in my review given your response. Thanks.

I’ve been coming to the shop for years now. I’ve had A.T. And Leon give me haircuts before, and both do an excellent job. I moved out of NY, but every time I come back for a visit, I make sure to stop by Ol’Time Barbershop. Hard to find a place that has so much history and charm. Go there for a haircut - you won’t regret it.

Owner's response

Thank you Marat we are always happy to see you at our shop

I’ve been here twice and both times have been worth every dollar. Victor takes great care of me, lining things up, finding the perfect geometric approach to cut my hair according to the shape of my head. He works with flare and professionalism and cannot recommend him enough. Great value and customer service. I swear the facial treatment I get during my shave has me looking younger and skinnier every time. Plus, the shop really is “old time” complete with real leather upholstered chairs and a vintage cash register.

Owner's response

Thank you Stive hope to see you soon

Have been taking my two sons (7 and 4) to this barbershop for several years. AT is a fantastic barber, who works wonders with kids. Both of my boys were initially scared of getting their hair cut with clippers, but AT’s patience made them comfortable. They now enjoy getting their hair cut (and the lolly pop at the end!). I am also a mom of two boys of color, so finding a barber who is comfortable with black hair has been amazing. Highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing cut & service by Viktor. Super sweet and a real artist. Very reasonable rates! Highly recommend. Note that the signage on the 16th St entrance does NOT say “Ol’ Time” - it just says “Hair Stylist”.

Owner's response

Hi, thank you very much for your review. We are glad you enjoy your haircut and services provided by Victor. Currently, we are working on our new awning design for our back entrance door. <br>We hope to see you soon!

Update as of 1/22/21 - this barber shop now has a new name under ol'time as the picture below Great place for a haircut. As of this writing the barber shop is going to be renamed. The guy in charge AT will change the name and look of the barber shop soon. He does a great job with my haircut and will do it in any style you want. Give it a try and I'm sure you'll keep coming back
