Ray is hands down one of the best barbers I’ve had in years. He really knows what he’s talking about took the time to understand exactly what I wanted, explained what would work best for my hair, and absolutely nailed it. The attention to detail is next level, and it’s refreshing to deal with someone who clearly takes real pride in their work. Clean, sharp cut that’s grown in perfectly since. Highly recommend Ray. I’ll definitely be coming back.

I have been going to Gaby at Kent Avenue Barber Shop for years. ALWAYS a great haircut - exactly what I ask for every single time. Great chatting with him and Ray while in the chair. Highly recommend!

I definitely won’t be coming back to this shop for a haircut or beard trim ever again. I had booked a beard trim for $30. When I got into the seat, I had confirmed that the charge will be $30 for a beard trim and clean up my edges. Two people said okay and they went on to completely mess up my beard. The woman cutting my hair ended up asking a coworker to do my beard as she couldn’t figure out the straight blade for my beard. After a 50mins beard trim, I was left with a horrible beard and being charged $78.00. No staff member had said that cleaned up the sides of my head would be considered a haircut. This place is a total scam and all the barbers don’t know what they are doing. Horrible haircut and overpriced- I don’t recommend any man who has hair to come here…

Upon arrival you request the appointment to be changed to a beard trim with a razor and also asked for a haircut. All service prices and estimated timeframes are clearly listed on Booksy.<br><br>Please note that upon arrival, you confirmed both a razor beard trim and a haircut. Regarding pricing and timing, requesting “just a bit off the sides” is still considered a full haircut and is charged and scheduled accordingly. This is why your appointment duration was 50 minutes.<br><br>As for the miscommunication amongst the co-workers. They wanted to insure you received a service which you specifically requested for.<br><br><br>When booking an appointment, our specialists prepare specifically for the services selected. Had the most amazing experience here. Ray is a perfectionist, he understood my hair type and gave a really nice cut which complements my face shape and matches the style I wanted. Would highly recommend this place

Having had my hair and beard done here for 2 years now, I can safely say this is an exceptional barbering establishment. Gabi sets the standard with an all-round top tier service. Sadly, yesterday marked my final visit to the barbershop, due to my impending remigration back to the UK. However, when I'm next due back in NYC, I'll likely let my hair grow out beforehand as a means to validate another visit to Kent Avenue Barber Shop! Thank you.

I finally found a barbershop that makes me feel at home! The owner, Gabby, is incredibly kind, and skilled. I’ve been to the shop twice now, once for a full haircut, and again for a trim — both times I left really happy. That’s a big deal since I can be quite specific with what I want in a haircut. I got an excellent haircut from Ray here! He worked quickly and efficiently and listened to my wants and delivered the goods! This is a nice, clean comfortable shop. The prices are good and include hot towel and a drink. It is at 415 Kent Ave near the water in Williamsburg!

I’m glad this popped up in the neighborhood! Beautiful quaint shop, clean and new, and excellent barber service at a reasonable price. Can’t put a finger to it but the cut just looks better than what I’m used to. And the whole experience is so comfortable. Superb!
