I came from out of town and was walking down the street when I saw this shop. I asked the guy outside if he could help me get a walk in straight razor job on my head. He was very enthusiastic about helping me out and I came back 30 minutes later and he got me in. Incredible haircut with an incredible conversation. What more could you want out of a barber? If I’m ever back in town, I will definitely be coming back to this shop!

As a 1st time customer I hate to say I wouldn't return the service was quick spent more time walking to shop then time in the chair. For a simple beard shape up that was simply just rushed. No hot towel to loosen my hair. The shave itself wasn't clean. There was hair still left in the chin box. The beard wasn't trimmed of the excess hairs. Just disappointed and unfortunately had a bad experience. Respectfully

Best barbershop in NYC! Skillz got skillz fr. My experiences was one of the best I ever had at any shop. They always show love and respect when you walk in and I always leave out feeling like a million bucks.

It's a good barbershop, guy doesn't talk to much while giving a shape up, he's focus. I was getting my hair braided so I needed a shape up first, I came because it just the name skill with z in it. Also wanted to try them for the first time

I went here and get a haircut from Steven (a Dominican guy). It was the worst haircut of my life. Normally I don’t write reviews but this haircut was so bad I had to write a review. This guy put hair dye on my forehead and shaped up my forehead. He didn’t event touch my hairline actual hairline. Two days later the dye wore off and I had zero hairline and zero haircut. He had the nerve to try to charge $50. Stay away from Steven

I hate to be the person to berate a business especially a black owned business but when dealing with the public, things has to be handled in a professional manner. I booked an appointment with Skillz more than 2 weeks ago. I even texted him to confirm that it will be him who will be servicing me. I booked the adult hair cut and beard enhancements. He confirmed that he will be cutting my hair. At 12am Friday morning, I got a text from Skillz that he will not be in the shop … “I'm working on a movie set til Friday BUT I left my bookings on because I have a barber that dope he cuts like me, been mentored by me for 6 years. He's going to accommodate my clients til I get back Saturday “ COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL & IMPUDENT on new clients. There was alot wrong in that text message. Celebrity barbers completely forget that they started from clients like myself. Those are the people you should remain loyal to and respect their time. I’m disappointed and hate to write a review like this but this is unacceptable behavior from our own people. Do better !

The best barbershop in Brooklyn ! Really clean cuts , the barbers are really friendly, skilled and detail oriented ! I’ve recommended my friends to this place they love it ! Good price for the services. Shout out to the Owner Mr. Lewis! He always treats anyone who steps inside the establishment like family 🔥

Great barber shop! My sons love it here! We have several shops in our neighborhood. However, house of skills is well worth the travel every single time. Not to mention how many of their friends are constantly on their phone lines ready to travel here for their cuts as well. House Of Skillz not only provides them with awesome haircuts, but also great words of wisdom as they wait their turns. Great shop and definitely recommended!

Finding a new barber is MAJOR so this decision was not taken lightly & it's one we do not regret. There was a hiccup with punctuality which is tough for our tight schedules BUT I must say, that created the opportunity to see just how talented the other barbers in the shop are as well. I was still able to get my cut done by Big Lew himself and it was definitely well worth the wait!! He brought my entire hair do to life!!! My husband and my son were cut by the other barber gracious enough to take them in the interest of time and he did not disappoint!! Very talented brothas in there and the energy and vibe is wholesome too. I love seeing the involved ownership & you can tell they all take pride in their craft! It was a great experience after the wait and we'll surely be back again!!!
