We had such a great experience getting haircuts for my two boys! The stylist was incredibly patient, friendly, and really took the time to make sure each of them felt comfortable. He listened carefully to what we wanted and delivered exactly that — both haircuts turned out fantastic! The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, which made the whole experience stress-free (a huge win when it comes to kids’ haircuts!). My boys left smiling and feeling confident with their fresh new looks. We’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend to any parents looking for quality cuts and a kid-friendly environment!

Very Disappointed in Recent Decline in Quality I am extremely disappointed with the haircut my son received during our recent visit. He left the appointment with a visible bald spot, which is unacceptable and distressing for any parent. This was not a minor imperfection, it was a significant mistake that should not occur with a trained professional. This location previously maintained a much higher standard of service. Since the departure of a former barber, Alex, who consistently demonstrated exceptional skill and professionalism, there has been a noticeable decline in quality. The attention to detail, technical ability, and overall execution during our visit fell well below reasonable expectations. What was equally concerning was the response from the manager, Albert. Instead of addressing the issue with professionalism and a willingness to resolve the matter, Albert responded dismissively and with an unprofessional and distasteful attitude. I was explicitly told that my business was not needed. That statement alone reflects a troubling lack of customer care and accountability. When a legitimate concern is raised particularly involving a child, customers deserve respect, accountability, and a sincere effort to make things right. Hair does not grow back overnight, and the impact of this mistake is immediate. Had I known the requested cut could not be properly executed, I would sought services elsewhere, initially. I am requesting that Fade Factory management take this matter seriously. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this business to anyone as serious steps are needed to improve both skill, service quality, and professional customer relations.

Owner's response

Hello Sonja,

This review is misleading and does not reflect what actually occurred.

You arrived as a walk-in at Fade Factory NYC and requested a skin fade, providing a reference photo and asking for the haircut to be done exactly as shown. You were asked whether you wanted a low or high fade and confirmed your choice. The haircut was completed accordingly.

After the service, you complained about the absence of a shape-up. Our barber explained—calmly and professionally—that the style shown in your reference photo does not include a traditional shape-up. When asked to review the photo together, you refused and became confrontational.

Despite our efforts to resolve the situation, you continued to argue. To end the disruption, we chose not to charge you for the haircut, and you left without payment.

For context, we have proudly served this neighborhood for over 20 years, this is our second location, and we have a large base of loyal, satisfied clients who return to us consistently because of our professionalism and quality of work.

Due to the behavior displayed during your visit, you are no longer welcome at our establishment.

I’ve been going to Alex for years, super nice guy, and he gives great cuts. Every visit is a great experience. The shop itself is clean, comfortable, and welcoming. You immediately feel at ease the moment you walk in. Alex takes pride in his work and makes sure you leave feeling confident and well taken care of. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for quality. Everyone who works in the shop is super nice and it’s a great atmosphere.

Great cut. Great service. Great vibes. Walked by the spot on 3rd Ave a few times and saw Albert giving some great cuts. I’ve had trusted barbers & stylists and over the years: long hair, short hair, the works. Albert’s my guy. One of the quickest cuts. Nailed a cut I had a picture of from over 5 years ago. Even with my hair in shock from chopping off a bit of length, it still lays correctly.

This is your classic New York City Barbershop. You get the experience you want. The buzz. The hospitality. I walked in, was immediately welcomed and offered a comfortable seat and complimentary coffee and water. Al (the owner) took care of my beard. Honestly, never seen my beard look so professional and at the same time, he kept the beard looking full and vibrant. I came here all the way from New Jersey from a friends recommendation and Fade Factory did not disappoint. I will be coming back religiously to get my beard done here. Also, there are many nearby restaurants that you can visit when you’re done. Love the area. Love the service. 5 star.

Expectations were high from the good reviews, but I was pretty let down. Decided to try this place out since it’s close by, but husband was left pretty disappointed with the cut as it looked nothing like the photos he provided and there was basically no communication from the barber. I think his barber was inexperienced because he shaped his neckline awfully and left a bald spot he’s never had before, really strange… Also completely disregarded his cowlicks and his hair is sticking up everywhere now, I just don’t know if this guy knew much about hair types. Also used so much product in his hair it was left hard and sticky with white specks all over… Customer service was nothing special, place was clean and looked nice but nothing to really rave about. Really wanted to love it. Left a photo of the choppy and flaky mess he received vs what he showed and described.

Owner's response

we appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear your husband wasn’t satisfied with his cut. We always strive to provide high-quality service, and our goal is for every client to leave happy with their haircut.

Unfortunately, we’ve seen cases where competitors leave negative reviews to make us look bad, but if this is a genuine concern, we truly wish he had mentioned it at the time of the service. We always encourage our clients to speak up if something isn’t right so we can address it immediately and make sure they walk out happy.

That being said, if he’d like to come back, we’d be happy to take a look and make any necessary adjustments. Feel free to reach out—we’d love the opportunity to make things right!

Looking for the best cut you’ve ever had? This is the spot. Want to show up early on a Sunday, have a snack, a tequila shot, and watch the game? You can do that too. The only thing better than this newly renovated barbershop’s style and friendly atmosphere is the skill of the barbers. To work at Fade Factory NYC, you have to be a master of your craft. Each barber brings a unique flair, ensuring every customer leaves with a personalized and precise haircut. Their attention to detail is exceptional, and they genuinely listen to clients' preferences, providing advice and suggestions when asked. Don’t take my word for it, see for yourself. This is the premier barbershop in Brooklyn.

Albert is the best barber in the world! Not only is he a master at what he does, but he’s super down to earth and chill too! Really makes you feel at home and at ease when he’s making you look super fresh🔥🔥🔥. He just opened up this beautiful shop called Fade Factory NYC and it’s🔥🔥🔥!!! 1000% style and class from top to bottom. Along with a mix of an urban, modern, and a classy vibe, there are hot and cold beverages too on the house! Don’t forget to ask for the hot towel at the end of your cut. It’ll change your life! Go check out Alex too! He’s masterful behind the blade as well and will make you regret not coming here sooner!
