My favorite barbershop! I was going to Persons of Interest for years but started going to Cotter Barber/High Horse (Manhattan and Driggs) because it was closer and they had openings. My only regret is that I didn’t try them sooner. Kristina is an amazing barber. Careful and confident. I could fully relax (fall asleep in the chair) knowing that she always cuts exactly as I asked, but with a professional touch that elevated every cut. She’s great at beard trims, too, gives a great scalp massage. Seriously, a spa-like experience. I started scheduling trims anytime I needed to reset or decompress. Brian’s a fantastic barber, too. He was the first person I saw when I came to Cotter/High Horse. I wanted to try something different with my hair. He was patient and totally down to talk through options with me—then movies and TV and music. Such a friendly guy. Always checking in to make sure you’re happy with what he’s doing. Every time I’m in there he’s with someone, treating them like family. There are a ton of places to get your haircut in Greenpoint, but this place is the best. Really. I even convinced my wife to start going because I felt so good after, and she said the same: I can’t believe I didn’t go here sooner. Alice has done a beautiful job oh her hair (color and curly cut, which is hard to get right). We recently moved and I can honestly say this might be one of the things I’ll miss most about living in the city. Thanks for all the great cuts Kristina and Brian!

Tim is hands-down the best barber I’ve ever had. Every visit is consistent, professional, and genuinely enjoyable. He takes the time to listen to what you want, offers great suggestions when you’re unsure, and delivers a sharp, clean cut every single time. The attention to detail is unmatched. Super friendly guy, couldn’t recommend enough.

I love this place, have been consistently getting my hair cut here for about 4 years. (Mikey is my guy, he is a mensch and a great barber). Exudes a cool positive vibe that feels like a cultural melange of old Brooklyn, hipster Brooklyn and Gen Z Brooklyn. This place is a gem!

Always a great cut in any chair. These are some seriously talented hair cutters and beard specialists. I’m here every week for a beard tightening with Christina. She’s got magic hands and always makes me look and feel great walking out. Can’t recommend this place enough.

I’ve came here a few haircuts now, but my last two visits I’ve had Artem cut my hair. By far the very best barber I’ve ever had. Artem takes his time and works with precisions and artistry. I can’t compliment his work enough! Just saying. Cotter Barber is excellent and also great cold brew.

I’ve been coming here for two years now and have gotten haircuts from Ryan, Mikey and Jay. All of the barbers here are excellent at what they do, and the experience is well worth the price.

All around wonderful experience and exactly the haircut I was looking for (from Doug). Great communication, sharp scissors, very light touch with a straight razor. Espresso was better than any I’ve had in the neighborhood recently. Music was fun. Despite having some of the trappings of a to-cool-for-school old timey hipster barbershop, everyone was super nice, really engaging, and fun to hang out with. I’ll certainly be back and highly recommend Cotter.

Stopped by this morning, met Mike, and was treated to good old fashioned hospitality and a couple shots of really high quality espresso. The gesture of talking coffee and getting sent home with complimentary coffee really made an impression on me. Came back later today after work for a haircut. Robert did the honors and I was very pleased by the quality of the cut. His attention to detail and gentle touch stood out to me. The owner made a kind gesture to invite me to the holiday party, which I might just accept. The haircut was excellent. Expensive, but the overall experience was very welcoming and made me feel like the good neighbor that I am. In summary, nice things cost money. While I’m not crazy about the amount paid, (55 plus tip) I really do feel that I received a premium quality service backed by truly genuine intentions. I left feeling better physically, mentally, and emotionally. It felt like treat to myself. Nice job team! I might drag haircuts an extra week in the future to keep costs more manageable, but overall I look forward to returning and becoming a regular.
