Been going to Barry's (Boris) for a year know and have taken my young son several times, too. They are great with little kids there, some other barbershops in the area wouldn't cut his hair, but Barry's took him and did a good job. No frills, bare bones barber shop, $17 for a cut (2023-2024 prices). I used to go to a fancy place but I can't say there is much difference in the quality of the cut. That said, I dont know what time he opens, it sure as heck isn't 8am. 8:30 and the shop is still closed up...

Decent haircut and relatively cheap. Not world class but I didn't pay for world class.

There’s a new guy middle chair. Don’t use him. He just shaved off half my sons eyebrow and wasn’t even apologetic about it. I would have given one star but Barry himself is a good guy and barber. I hope he gets rid of this new guy. He was also not nice and very rude to us.

Barry is a wonderful barber who is very communicative over the phone and in person. I stopped by for a haircut for a special event last week. Barry is a true professional as a barber. He is great with customer engagement and gives the best haircuts. It cost only $18 which is very affordable. Barry gives life advice as well. If you're looking for a great barber choose Barry's the barber shop. Highly recommended.

Very nice guy! Horrible cut! If you're expecting a decent fade or shape up this is NOT your place. Probably good for older gentleman that barely have any hair left and expect the most basic cut my child can pull off.

I got to say out of all the barbershops that I've been to and sheepshead Bay and even avenue Barry's barber shop has the cheapest haircut for men and he actually gives really good tape up shape-ups fades all the stuff that all the other barber shops give except without charging the expensive fee of $20 or $25 for a haircut I went there last week and got a haircut for $14 with tip it came out to like $20 so very affordable I'd recommend definitely people to go there. Amazing tapeups... Prices are great and the guy gives better haircuts than half of the Young bucks that have shops open in this neighborhood so definitely go to him Barry is the man.

Upon arrival I noticed that chairs were set up for social distancing. Clean shop and great service. Barry cut my hair just the way I like, will be returning next month!

I was amazed at the great haircut I got from the Russian guy who I assume is the owner. It's a small place and I just stopped in for the first time because I needed a haircut badly. Barry did an excellent job I'm very satisfied. Next time I'm in Brooklyn I'll be stopping in to see him again.

Barry's Barber Shop is one of those rare gems situated in the Sheepshead Bay/Gravesend/Midwood area. There is nothing flashy about the tiny storefront, no inflatable tube men trying to bring people in, no colorful banners, and frankly it would be easy to overlook the business. But what is inside is some of the nicest, professional, speedy, and talented barbers in Brooklyn. There are typically only one or two barbers on staff at a time. All of them are decent, but if you're lucky enough, go for Barry. If you've gone to him before, he will always remember what you like. If you are up for a change in style, a picture or even a rough description is usually enough for Barry to figure out what you're looking for. If you know your length numbers, that can help, but they aren't necessary at all. And if you have no clue what you should ask for, Barry will start working away bit by bit, checking with you throughout the process to see if you've settled on a look. The really amazing thing? Barry does all of this incredibly quickly. You won't believe the time on the watch when he finishes up. There are a handful of men's barber shops in the area. A lot of them are much more expensive, have much larger storefronts, and have 5 to 6 seats inside always filled. They may cater to a different audience, and that's fine. Having gone to a few of them, just to see the difference, I have found that Barry's Barber Shop is hands down the best haircut in South Brooklyn. Not only do you get a BETTER cut than you expected, it won't break the bank, and you'll be done between 20 and 30 minutes (there is rarely a wait). For the quality of the cut, Barry could easily charge what his competitors are charging. If he ever does, I will still go to him, because nobody gives a better haircut than Barry's Barber Shop.
