I showed the barber a photo of me from a couple months ago so he could give me a trim and shorten up the sides and he did me dirty. Totally messed up the shape of my hair and cut it way too short and it is patchy on the sides. Decently nice guy but he was on his phone for a majority of the beginning of the haircut and I felt uncomfortable the entire time while getting my hair cut because of another employee in the shop who was joking around with the guys cutting hair and getting very close to me and the barber while scissors were right next to my head. I’m pretty upset about this cut and wishing I had spent my $35 elsewhere.

Been in here several times and never been disappointed. Recently had an appointment with Ace and he did a fantastic job with my beard and fade. They’re in a convenient spot and good price for Rutgers students, would highly recommend.

Gabe is really skilled and I’m happy with the cut. I showed him a picture of the hairstyle I wanted, he helped me narrow it down, and it turned out great. The college ID discount did not actually apply but whatever.

10/10 cut! I walked outta the shop feeling like a god! Cut was so good I decided to walk a mile round campus, high fives all around. When to get some grub and the guy gave me 11 chicken nuggets outta 10 and said "nice cut og". Honestly made me a better person. Shout out Martin Luther Nate for the cut!

Came at 4pm on a Sunday as a walk in. They clearly say they’re open until 6pm on a sunday. Drove 20 minutes, paid my parking, and come to see the door is locked. I can’t imagine a barber that disrespects their customers like this gives good haircuts.

True cuts has great service and consistency. I’ve been getting cut by Nathan for awhile, and his quality and attention to detail are unmatched. He cares about his customers and is always asking for their feedback during a cut, which is something I really appreciate. Pricing is on point too, I never feel like I’m paying too much. Barbers were nice and the haircut was good, however, the process was a bit frustrating. I made a same say appointment for 4:30 and while I appreciate them getting me in, I had to wait until 6. I would have much preferred being told that the earliest option was 6 or to come in another day since I had to miss two classes. I already went to College Ave so I waited it out, but generally, if this is the norm it’s a problem for students. Like, I changed up what haircut I wanted because I needed to leave fast for an event. Also, on that note, I’m sure this is not under the barbers discretion, but price wise, it was a bit steep for what I asked for. I went for a quick trim, clip the sides and fade into the top, took about 15 minutes, not even. It cost the same as the two clients ahead of me, who each took up 45+ minutes. Idk, it would be cool if every haircut didn’t have a flat starting rate of $35.

If you ever need a cut and are in the area you gotta come to True Cuts. I booked an appointment with Nate and he didn't disappoint! He's quick but precise, and super patient. Will definitely get a cut from him again. *Also want to shout out Eli, he was super helpful during the cut and offered input to make sure I came out looking clean 👌🏾

I've been to a lot of barbers, but none have matched the consistency, attention to detail, and overall experience I get here. Ace is not only skilled, but genuinely cares about getting the cut just right every single time. Always a clean fade, great conversation, and a relaxed vibe. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-notch barber who actually listens and delivers.

Writing a review after a long time doesn’t come handy when you cannot remember the barber’s name. I recently had a hair cut here going by the reviews and did a walk-in without booking an appointment. The place looked like a barber shop in the middle of a nice game room. The barber (sorry couldn’t recall his name) asked the requirements and quickly jumped to work. He did a pretty clean job but I had a complete turn off when he assumed that I wouldn’t need long sideburns and decided to chop it off short. I immediately told him that I usually sport long sideburns and he must have checked with me before proceeding. I was equally surprised that it cost $35 for a simple haircut. Anyway the place had good aesthetics and ambience and it would definitely cost that much if you are also making use of their pool table or the PlayStation. I also found the music little too loud as both of us found it difficult to hear each other.
