Yes, I was7 minutes late for my appointment due to a business call that ran long. I immediately called the shop apologizing. Below is their response. What a disingenuous, bitter man/owner! Don’t go here & you have been warned..,. “you booked an appointment with me at 220 today I reserve 20 minutes of my time for you I’m standing around now doing nothing. Why should you not pay me a minimum of $10 for that. I’m surprised that your attitude go to another barber be my guest See if your next barber runs on time like I have always done and giving you ask kissing service like I always have You’re always late and was always inconsiderate towards my time I don’t need clients like you you’re not considerate towards my time”

No idea about how well they cut hair. It might be good it might be bad didn't get to find out. Was told they take walk ins. Came back at the time. Proceeded to wait an hour with a guy that was ahead of me because the one barber was booked through a third party app, and the other dude was shaving his head the entire time. So 3 people were waiting for one dude and we didn't know. Again. They might cut hair nicely but get an appointment first don't bother walking in.

rude barbers, literally viscously rip at your hair with their combs if you have curly hair instead of being reasonably gentle. Openly talk about how they overcharge clients if their clients express that they don't have other barber options. Always having a major attitude and don't even know how to give you a fade without a reference photo. The haircuts are mediocre at best unless they decide to care in that particular moment. Really the worst of the options in new brunswick. Go to one of the latino barbershops, they treat you with respect and are friendly.

Since 2016, when I found scissorhands, Jay has been the only person I have let cut my hair. He does a great job, is super friendly, and the place doesn’t try to be too fancy like other shops. Not going to find a better haircut for a low price in central jersey

Pros: -Single barber who takes his time with each of his customers (and is friendly) -Only $20 -A 5 min walk from the Yard on College Ave Cons: -Fairly long waits -Does not open at exactly 9 (opens about an hour and a half) I arrived at about 10, but the doors were still closed until about 1030 (so my first impressions we're iffy). I was behind 1 person, and I waited about 15-20 mins, but it was worth the wait. The barber gave me probably one of the best cuts (a taper/fade) I've ever gotten. Overall the pros outweigh the cons, so I recommend this barbershop 100%.

I’ve been to this place twice. The first time I got a great haircut. The second time it was someone different and I really didn’t like the experience and wouldn’t go back. Reason: I described what I wanted in words (as well as a picture of myself from before). He didn’t even try to understand what I wanted and cut my hair super short using clippers (guess he wanted to get done with it easy). The entire time he was also talking to someone on video call. Very rude and unprofessional behavior.

Being from Philly, it took me two years before I was willing to get my head cut in NJ. Two of my co-workers had sharp head cuts consistently. So I asked them separately, where they got their cuts. They both said the same place and gave the same name. I have been a loyal customer to the barber ever since. If you need a barber with skill who is consistent and cool, ask for Jay. He is the best barber in NJ as far as I'm concerned. Tell him you saw this review. If he's not in, ask for Khayree. He crazy sharp with it too. Anybody else I can't speak on. Place has a nice vibe too. Long as Jay there and I'm in this area, I'm there.

A great place to get a haircut for college students. They give discounts every Monday and Tuesday if you have your RU ID. Jay, the barber in particular gave me a really nice skin fade and shape-up and I recommend him if you’re looking for a cut.

Easton Ave Scissor hands always comes through. Their hours are always as listed and they have the best barbers. Hands down Jay in the 1st chair is always my go to. Very knowledgeable when it comes to all types of hair textures and that’s exactly what Makes a great barber.

I went there a week ago and G gave me a fantastic fade. I've been going to this place for roughly two years and each barber has given me excellent cuts. The only drawback is that there are no appointments so you have to get lucky time wise.
