I found him, I finally found him!! Its so hard to find a true beard stylist by skillset & trade, not just self entitled on a website bio. I've had a beard, actually, long beard for awhile & its a huge relief knowing that its Mike's beard now. There is no doubt, I will continue to allow Mike to do what he does best for me. River gives the best hair cuts. I wouldn't go to anybody else, but the whole staff is very professional and skilled. Love this place!

Mike does a great job and is very personable! He remembered me right away only after a couple visits! I've gone back to him so much I trusted him to cut my hair for my wedding! Can't go wrong with him

The staff is fun to be around, conversation is great, and the haircuts are even better! River cuts my hair—as well as my son’s—and it’s always done right. She’s open to my suggestions and gives her own depending on the look I’m going for. I’ve never been disappointed.

I couldn't recommend a better place to get your hair cut. Been to many great places in Manhattan, and only walked in one day because I needed a cut and couldn't make it to my usual shop...well I never went back to it and this became my new spot. Emmy listens to what you want, but more importantly, truly understands the art of cutting hair. The detail she puts into each cut, whether you are getting a trim or you are getting a total makeover, is simply outstanding. I could write paragraphs on how this is the best shop I have been to, and so could my close friends who have also started coming here. Top notch, A++ wouldn't go anywhere else.

Emmy is simply...a master of her craft. My husband spent a decade at top barbershops in Manhattan but when we moved to Jersey City he found Emmy. I found the most attractive version of my husband. Then years later, Emmy founded Montclair. And we followed her there. We added two kids to the mix and stayed loyal to Emmy. Happy trips to her cozy Montclair shoppe with two chatty toddlers. One adult, two kids and top quality work that is always noticed and complimented. She's an artist and a friend.

A+ service and quality! Was promptly taken when I arrived. Cut by Emmy who was lovely to talk to, quick, and incredibly skilled. Rarely do my haircuts (at other barbers or stylists) look good immediately after, but this one did - received many compliments! Also felt safe from a COVID standpoint. Will definitely be my new go-to.

Booked my first appointment for this location last minute and they had an opening for me today (Saturday morning). I’m beyond impressed with their professionalism, cleanliness and quality of work. Someone checked my temp prior to entering the shop, they then washed my hair and had me seated. I got an excellent haircut all while wearing my mask. Emmy, the lady barber was absolutely amazing. Tightest fade I’ve had in years. A quick seamless haircut right here in my own neighborhood. I’d give em 10 stars if I could. Best of Luck Emmy and team!

Emmy was my barber at the Virile Jersey City and when she first told me that she was opening up her own shop in Montclair, there was no doubt in my mind that I would follow. Her barber skills, attention to detail and overall personality are hard to compete with and it shows in the shop she's created. I've gone twice since they've opened and the vibe of the place is amazing. Most importantly they have set up great safety protocols to make you feel as comfortable as possible. Would definitely recommend!

Loved the service. Booked my first appointment with Emmy 6/24/2020. Had a Warm welcome, never had a shampoo and head massage before a cut. Felt great. Immediately have to give it 5 stars. Emmy is very knowledgeable about hair and gave great advice/tips on how to style my hair. She talks to you throughout the cut, the how’s and the whys. Trusted her with my hair completely and loved how it came out. If you’re hesitant about the price. I normally paid $20 for a GOOD cut at my previous barber. I have no problem in paying more than twice that amount for a GREAT cut. Will be coming back for my next cut.
