I love this place. I finally have barbershop that has helped me get the beard cut I like. Great barbers. Easy to park. I enjoy the great conversation and old school feel.

After needing a barber last minute I took a chance and stumbled upon Joel. My son and I have been coming to see him for about 2 years and I'll never look back. Always accommodating, friendly and great conversations. He has great experience and the haircuts are always on point. He also will advise when I may ask for something that won't mesh well with the haircuts which is very appreciated. Highly recommend him for anyone needing a new barber!

Joel is an amazing barber. The first time he cut my hair I was 15, and ever since then he’s been the only barber I’ve trusted with my hair and I’m 19 now. He’s always on time, has great attention to detail, and makes sure I’m happy with the cut before finishing. He’s patient, listens to what you want, and still works quickly without ever rushing the quality. Highly recommend him if you’re looking for someone consistent and professional. He’s also great if you don’t know what haircut you want he’ll give you recommendations.

I’ve been going to Joel for a while now, and he never disappoints. From the moment you sit in his chair, he makes you feel comfortable and actually takes the time to understand what you want. Joel is incredibly detail-oriented, especially with fades and line-ups, and he never rushes the process. You can tell he takes real pride in his work. On top of that, he’s easy to talk to, professional, and creates a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere every visit. I always leave feeling fresh and confident. I’ve been coming here for the past few years and have nothing bad to say. Joel pays a lot of attention to detail and always has me walking out the door feeling FRESH. He also gave me a cut the day before my wedding and did an awesome job. Definitely recommend coming here

I have been Going to Joel for a while now and I will never let anyone else cut my hair again ! He’s awesome his services are on point great fades and sharp lines , awesome shear work as well which is hard to find sometimes ! I’ve recommended a few of my friends and family members as well and we all see Joel !! I’d recommend you see Joel to 💈.

My barber retired years ago and I was lucky to meet up with Abe. I have been visiting his barber shop (Pleasant Barber Shop - 34 W Pleasant Ave Maywood, NJ) ever since. His store is easy to get to and he provides a variety of cuts and services (cut, color, shave, wax, shampoo, beard trim, etc) to men, women, and kids. There is plenty of parking but make sure to call ahead. Although walk-ins are welcome he tends to get busy at times (another good sign). Abe provides me with consistent haircuts at a fair price. I have been going for nearly ten years now. Worth a visit.

I went to this barber shop and waited about 15–20 minutes until it was my turn. When I sat down, I clearly said I wanted a short haircut and even showed a photo to avoid any confusion. He then asked where I usually get my hair cut, and I told him it’s random places. I also said, “just make it a short style, do something clean.” After that, he abruptly told me to get up from the chair and wait for another barber, in a very rude way. The other barber had already taken a new customer, which meant waiting an extra 30 minutes. The other barber even told him, “You could have done this haircut, why didn’t you?” and he didn’t answer at all. He didn’t even say “sorry.” Extremely unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. I left very disappointed. The barber who was rude to me was a young guy with long hair, and his attitude was completely unprofessional.

Hi Gengiz<br>I apologize for the experience you had at the shop, he didnt understand much from the picture you showed him and he wasn't feeling good and that's why he asked you if the other Barbers can do it which i offered to give you the haircut after I'm done with my customer which I was almost finished, I cut your hair before and I wasn't going to let you leave upset , I would like you to call me my name is Abe im the owner or just come back and I promise you will leave happy , again I apologize for all this and I hope to see you back soon

Decided to tryout Pleasant Barber Shop for my 3 year old son. Eli was fantastic with my son and both my wife & I are thrilled with his first fade! Will definitely be bringing back my son and will also look to try it out for myself since is so close to our home.
