I'm writing this review to potential new customers who are wondering if the quality of this barbershop is good. Experience will differ from person however the general setting are similar. I only visited this barbershop twice (and likely my last) but my experience and expectations getting a haircut here were unsatisfying and below my expectation of returning. The good is that this barbershop has many barbers who are openly available to cut your hair which can help decrease wait time. The store allows walk-in and there are employees who try to keep the place clean. Barbers here are comfortable to be around and some barbers are sometimes outside by the store front requesting for people to try out their barbershop. The bad is the overall haircut and general store experience. Personally for me the haircut here are decent to somewhat average depending on which barber is cutting your hair. A barber who name I forgot had shaped up my head hair for $10 dollars and did an ok job. But he had left off a long dangling hair on one side of my face which I later ask him to cut off. One problem I had with him was that he kept talking to his friends about sports passionately than cutting my hair that some spit landed on my face. Another barber name Jeffery who claims to have over 30 years of experience completely cut my hair different than what was asked. He trimmed off so much hair off my head despite me requesting not to. I even told him I was growing out my hair and he still did so anyway. He also upcharge me from $10 dollars to $20 dollars for a full clean head and beard cut when he told me months ago that he can do both of them for $10 dollars. The problems I had during the haircut process with him would be that he would tilt my head back to hold instead of leaning back my chair for my head to rest to trim under my beard like other barbers at the shop. And then had the nerve to say he would give me a $30 cut service for free when I told him that I didn't like the haircut. One major problem here is the constant talking while cutting and inconsistent hair service provided. Earlier I called the main shop unknowingly that you can also call the specific barber direct phone and ask if Jeffery was available. One barber told me he went out and didn't know when he would be back. Worse is that the barber didn't even ask me for my name, trying to find out when Jeffery would be back or what time to possibly call back. If I didn't call back an hour later I would've just gone to another barbershop. TLDR (TOO LONG DIDN'T READ) The Pros - There are about four or more barbers available. - The atmosphere is large and easy going. - Accept walk-ins. The Neutral - Prices can range from $10 - $30 dollars depending if you want a full clean haircut on both head hair and beard or a regular haircut. The Cons - Haircut can take up to 20 to 30 min to finish. - Barbers talking in between haircuts with colleagues, phone calls, friends, etc. - Barbershop uninformed of barbers time schedules. - Inconsistent haircut service towards customers among different barbers. So if you are someone who is concern if a barber will trim too much hair off than requested or doesn't provide consistant haircut experience then I would not recommend this barbershop for you. However if you are someone who is looking for a decent low price haircut and have low expectations then I would recommend this barbershop for you.

Dexter has been my Barber and is a very good one at his job. I’m in a rehabilitation home and I need a shave (bald head) from him. The only problem is I’m wanting a Baldhead right now.

I'm a long-time resident of East Orange and have known my friends/barber shop for years; however, I've been shaving my head and face for decades. Recently, I grew my beard and mustache and needed a reputable barber. My brother Raheem Britton highly recommended Mr. Tyheem, who happens to be somewhat a family, is a great choice. The second he started cutting my beard, I told him that he would be my permanent barber. East Orange... you can't go wrong at Scovil's. Master Britty

Britney has growing hands and is beautiful inside and out. The positive comraderie amongst barber colleagues and community and clients is palatable and heartwarming. Great conversations and laughs had, by all. The owner regularly gives back to the community and hosts expert barbers and a loctition/braid stylist that is extraordinary

I liked this place because the barber I went to, Dexter, was a very professional person and the time in the chair was pleasant as we chatted while he worked. That shop is clean and instead of just brushing hair off your neck as is the case in most shops I've ever been to , they have air hoses which are more efficient and forceful, as the brushing doesn't really remove the hairs that stick to your clothes and skin annoyingly. Plus, the shop is like 2 mins walking distance from where I live so it's a win-win. There are good barbers there and they're always busy.

After much research I discovered a great barbershop! The atmosphere was professional, friendly and very clean. Not knowing which barber to choose I opted for the barber that I spoke to on the phone. Dexter was extremely nice and he listened to how I wanted my hair cut. He took his time and worked with precision, checking intermittently to make sure that it was being cut the way that I wanted it. I would highly recommend this barber for cutting women's hair.

Nice clean environment where all the barbers kind courteous and attentive. Not to expensive given that nowadays a decent haircut could run you a good $20. But here it's cheaper and they offer more services for less money while keeping you looking fly. Kid friendly and family oriented
