I was drawn in by their sign claiming they fix competitors' haircuts, but I was wrong. I gave very specific instructions: "Shape the top and leave the back alone." The stylist, an older blond woman, completely disregarded what I said. She started layering my hair, claiming it was to "prevent it from looking like my sister cut it." My sister would have done a better job. When she asked if the back was long enough, I told her it was shorter than I wanted. She still insisted that what she did was right because I had a meeting next week. It's obvious they do whatever they want regardless of a client's requests. If you want a say in your own haircut, go somewhere else. Yes, you asked if I was satisfied with my cut. I said yes to get myself out of your shop. My lack of eye contact and general rush out the door and to put my hat on should have been enough of a hint. It's also weird that a barbershop can sell Cuban cigar. Update: owner let me know they have a license to sell tobacco so I removed that part still think it’s weird. Don't fall for the four-star reviews like I did—this place deserves two stars or less. I wouldn't go back even if they paid me. Update: Owner responded. Thank you. I severely disagree with you that I was instructing her to cut my hair badly. My apologies that thinking my instructions of I would like the top to be tamed (meaning it was out of control as a joke)don’t touch the back I like that would be easily understood. I never asked for a bad haircut I was actually satisfied with my hair for once before I came to a cut below. When you start with a buzzer there is no going back. Correct me if I’m wrong. And certainly 40+years does make her a professional. However, that does not mean anything when you don’t listen to basic instructions, ask questions, or value your clients feelings and opinions. It is not professional to blatantly ignore a clients request and do what you think is right. I am not the first person to complain about this woman and her offensive approach at customer service. I will not be returning for a refund or a re-cut. My review stands as a hopeful deterrent from someone having a similar experience I had today. Ps. The smell of stale cigarette smell hovering around you while getting a haircut is offensive.

My son got a hair cut there by the older lady & it was an ok job . Nothing spectacular but it got the job done since his regular barber was too busy. I found the older to be rude though. We were in a bind again & needed a quick haircut. The older lady there was incredibly rude & dismissive. I wouldn't go back even if I was desperate.

i genuinely liked the service but only if only if i feel welcomed in. i got my haircut by a elder lady with blonde hair, she has made comments about my race (latino) and it made me feel offended. again i like the service and i like my cut but with the country being like this and this chaos i feel offended by the lady’s comments wither or not being a latino or not.

It was great and the owner did a great job cutting my hair. It wasn't long and I would recommend this place for a good haircut.

Great barber shop. The only place our boy will get his hair cut! They are all so sweet and feels like family as soon as you walk in. For both adults and kids i highly recommend. Btw we love the tattoo girl lol

My got I went today to cut my hair. This barber who cut my hair she was worst n not paying attention to me what I told her. I clearly told her what style n size I wanted my hair cut. The tattoo girl didn’t listen what I was telling her & then she still messed up my hair completely. I told her clearly I hope you are not making it very shorter n she said no, then after that she was taking machine n keep on going on n on over my head & reducing my hair so shorter it came to end of my hair. Photos below 👇🏼👇🏼 My god she made me completely bold. This tattoo girl was worst n not good. I still paid her tip but she wasn’t deserving any tip. I was nice with her but she wasn’t nice. Not good staff. I swear I won’t recommend to anyone n won’t ever go back. Photos is attached below. 👇🏼👇🏼How bad she made it. After telling her not so short hair I told her clearly that little bit short n I showed her pictures how short but she wasn’t good person. Not even professional. My god. What was her problem. I m not into for free cut but I need good service. What you pay n you don’t get it makes me very disappointed N what you are paying money not for free cutting hair. So at least should be nice worth it. She had some kind of issue. I didn’t ask for this short hair. Not at all happy. Very disappointed. Owner was nice but the lady who cut my hair was worst person.

Natasha is great. Bring a picture, sit back, be quiet and prepare to be amazed. You like Cigars? Buy a good one here. You like a funny owner with a snappy girlfriend? Come on down. Support local business. Get a great hair cut or shave.

After searching for nearly two years for a solid barber shop, my search has finally ended! A Cut Above truly lives up to its name. Martina is the first person to cut my hair *exactly* how I wanted it. Great atmosphere and wonderful people. I intend on being a regular from here on out! I should also note that they did a wonderful job on my 2 y.o daughter's hair the other month.

I have been a customer since Martina started her own place. 11 years? Great & quick. Don't need all the amenities, although the place does have a classy feel. Nice renovation job. Martina is martina. No punches pulled. A lot of fun to chat with while in the chair. Won't go anywhere else. Always see someone you know. Oh, BTW, did a fantastic job on my 3 yr old grandson. Patience of a saint with little ones. Super.

I took my 2 year old daughter here for a haircut and, even though my daughter was quite scared, the barber Martina did an amazing job. I can't believe how perfectly straight she cut the hair of my very active toddler! Geared towards men, they have comfortable leather seats, a wide variety if services, giant TVs, a cozy atmosphere, and very affordable prices. If you are looking for a consistent place to get your hair cut at, A Cut Above is definitely worth a try!
