do not go to this place if you have specific directions for your haircut and your barber proceeds to do whatever he wants to it!!!! I asked for a specific half inch off the top and he proceeded to maybe cut a foot. off never coming back to this place

I can’t say enough good things about Idle Hands Barbershop and my barber Alex. I’ve been getting my hair cut by Alex for years, and at this point it’s effortless — I walk in, sit down, and he knows exactly what I want without me having to say a word. Every single time, the cut is perfect. That level of consistency, attention to detail, and professionalism is rare. Alex takes real pride in his work, and it shows in the results. The shop itself has a great vibe — clean, relaxed, and welcoming — the kind of place you actually enjoy going to. I’ve also watched the other barbers work while I’m there, and they all do a great job as well — it’s clear the entire team holds the same high standard. If you’re looking for a barber you can trust long-term, someone who truly understands your style and delivers every time, this is the place. Highly recommend.

Amazing barber shop all around. Quality and consistency of the haircut I get is always top notch. Great atmosphere and an awesome bunch of folks behind the chair keeps me coming back. Beyond the cut they have a great selection of vintage gear and hair care products.

Idle Hand Barber Shop is the go to spot for a cut if you’re anywhere near or far from Bradley Beach. I travel 25 min to come here passing plenty of other local shops because this place gets it. They are kind, welcoming, and professional. I’m greeted with smiles and a “hello” every time, as I walk into a cool shop with various vintage art depicting old athletes, and musical artists. The vibe is real with the alternative and rock tunes playing as I sit on the classic style chesterfield couch waiting for my turn in the chair. I look to my left and see a box of records and a huge “The Clash,” poster. Aesthetics and style aside, the service is second to none. Olivia, my stylist, is great at what she does. She hits the nail on the head every time I ask for a specific cut. Soft touch, good conversation, and I get to leave feeling like a million bucks after. Highly recommend this place! 🤙🏼

I can't recommend idle hand enough. When you walk in for your appointment you're greeted by the friendly staff, and always feel welcomed. The service is exceptional—Tom is not just a skilled barber but also a true professional. He always listens carefully to what I ask for and offers great suggestions. He always delivers on what was asked, and it somehow he makes it better! Tom is also one of the best people I've ever met, and I always look forward to chatting with him when I need a trim! Beyond the great haircut, the entire experience is top-notch. The barbershop was clean, well-organized, and had a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. It's clear that idle hand puts a lot of care into creating a positive environment for their clients.

Mike crushed my haircut as always. The shop has an amazing vibe and I love coming here. Please check it out if you’re near the area or visiting on vacation. They also sell vintage merch which is a plus!
