Groom’s Dream Barbershop — The Best in NH! I can’t say enough good things about The Original Barbershop in Salem. I was getting married and wanted a professional barber experience to match the “full glam” treatment my partner was getting at the hotel. I started my search early and tried a few places first — one in Pelham that gave a good cut but made me feel completely out of place (no one spoke English and they always acted like they didn’t know who I was when I showed up), and another in Londonderry where the barbers were “too cool” to even talk to me while I sat in the chair. Then I found The Original Barbershop, and the difference was night and day. From the moment I walked in, everyone was welcoming and friendly. I sat with Jose, and he was incredible — professional, personable, and precise. He gave me a perfect haircut and beard trim, and for the first time in this whole process, I actually enjoyed being in the chair. When I told them I wanted to book the morning of my wedding, they went above and beyond. We had a party of six men of varying ages, and they accommodated all of us without missing a beat. Every single one of us walked out looking sharp and saying it was the best haircut they’d ever had. Jose made sure I, as the groom, got the full five-star treatment. They even surprised us with coffee and donuts that morning because they knew how hectic the wedding day can be and how little we’d get to eat. The team here truly gets it. Great atmosphere, great people, and top-tier skill. I can’t recommend The Original Barbershop enough — they absolutely nailed it!

I've been looking for a men's barbershop since returning from Miami. The Original Barber will now be my place to go when I'm not in Miami. Even is the best!

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Poor Customer Service and Lack of Professionalism I called the shop at 2:00 PM to ask if there were any appointments available that day. I was told they could take me at 4:00 PM, and I confirmed the appointment. I arrived on time for the appointment, but no one greeted me upon entering. In fact, one of the barbers looked directly at me and said, “You better have an appointment.” I politely confirmed that I did and gave him my name. About two minutes later, two chairs opened up. Naturally, I expected to be called next since I had a confirmed appointment. Instead, a walk-in customer entered and was immediately greeted and seated by one of the barbers. The second barber, who had also become available, didn’t acknowledge me at all—he simply closed down his station and left. Still trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, I waited another 15 minutes. Eventually, a third barber became available. Just like the previous two, he didn’t acknowledge me or even ask if I was waiting. Instead, another walk-in customer arrived and was immediately taken care of—before me, despite my confirmed appointment and now extended wait. The entire experience felt dismissive and unprofessional. For a shop charging $50 per haircut with beard maintenance, I expected not just quality grooming but basic respect and customer service. Failing to honor scheduled appointments and neglecting to even greet clients is unacceptable in any service-based business. I hope this review serves as constructive feedback and encourages this shop to hold their barbers accountable for treating all clients with respect—especially those who make the effort to schedule appointments in advance.

Noah first and foremost, we would never say you better have an appointment. We respect all of our clients. We appreciate everyone’s business. We do our best to accommodate. I’m the owner. I’m in the front of the barbershop. I always ask politely. Hey do you have an appointment ,so that you don’t sit there and wait for no reason. Our schedule was full yesterday so anybody who walked in had an appointment with that scheduled Barber. Just because you have an appointment doesn’t mean you’re up next when you see somebody open. We all have specific clients scheduled. Yesterday our schedule was completely full and I do not see you on the schedule. Did you call the right barbershop? We have two locations. Possibly you called the wrong one? We book the majority of our appointments online. It’s very easy. Maybe this would help your confusion.

Needed a beard trim and found the Original Barbershop. Gabriel was ready on time and went right to it. Did an amazing job. I wasn't sure it was going to go well as I'm old and this is a bunch of young trendy people. However he was amazing. I'd recommend this place to anyone. It's spotless, busy and has great parking options. You can trust them with your hair and beard regardless of the length.

I moved into the area and needed a haircut and found this gem. They give great cuts, super attention to detail and a great experience. I liked it so much I took my son and his haircuts are amazing

The details my berber went to for me so I had a perfect haircut were amazing. Such attention to detail! Every part of his process was perfect! A 20% tip did not seem enough, and I wanted to hug him. I was used to a barber in Lexington, MA for 45 years who cut my hair very well. This is my new 45 year guy.

The level of professionalism and cleanliness is unmatched. It is extremely hard to find a barbershop like this, so I am glad I did. I looked sharp every single time I've been there (3).

The original Barbershop, might as well be called the only barbershop! Just got back to the area and reconnected with my former barber Jeff, he did an incredible job, hits the mark every time! The owner Evan even came through with beverages. These guys are great, do yourself the favor and let these guys get you right! Ask Jeff about the Zoro

This shop is great. Really nice and welcoming. Also prices are fair for the quality if the cut. Definitely book ahead, but I have walked in and got seen immediately. Next to a pizza shop, vape shop, and a 711! Great parking and in a location you can avoid the nightmare of Broadway that turning traffic time can make this a no go zone
