Great barbershop, every single person in there is friendly and treat you with respect. Also this is very clean business and well put together. Gotta give a huge shout out to Zack for a great haircut, I’m definitely a little OCD and picky but Zack listened to my details and provided a fantastic haircut !!!!

Moved to Charlotte four years ago, and had been to four or different barbershops over that time looking to replicate the quality and style of haircuts I used to get when I lived elsewhere. I could never find someone to give me the “perfect” cut…so for a while I just grew my hair out for almost three years (with just an occasional “safe” trim in between) which I finally tired of. So went to Hong as my fifth alternative this summer. She actually listened to my concerns regarding my previous haircuts and immediately went to work fixing three years of long grown out hair, and the previous one year of bad cuts. It took her the better part of an hour to shape it up and get it right, all the while hilariously commenting on the oddball shape of hair and previous cuts buried underneath. I have been to her four times now, and each time I get the “perfect” cut that had been elusive for the four years I have been here!

Hands down the worst barbershop experience I’ve ever had. Yesterday I brought my 5-year-old in, and the guy “Zack” acted like a wannabe tough guy fresh out of prison. My kid got some hair in his mouth and tried to blow it out, and this clown actually barked at him — “ayyy don’t be spitting on my cape man!” Who the hell talks to a little kid like that? Today I came back for my own cut, and the same Zack hits me with the nastiest attitude possible. Not just “I only do appointments,” but said in the most hostile, aggressive way like I was an inconvenience for even walking in the door. Meanwhile, his buddy was glued to his phone, wouldn’t even look up, and only muttered “nah” when I directly asked him if he had time. Absolute garbage customer service from both of them. This place is a joke. Rude, unprofessional, and clearly don’t care if they run off business. Believe the 1-star reviews — they’ve earned every single one. If you enjoy being disrespected, go here. If not, avoid at all costs. Absolute waste dump run by clowns. Stay far, far away. Perfect spot if you enjoy paying to be treated like garbage… otherwise, pray they go out of business soon.

Jim Rizzo is incredibly rude. Asked me to tip after performing duties within his job description (legit just cutting hair). Then when I responded saying it’s not expected of me to tip, regardless of it being a service, he then made it clear I’m not welcome back there. People, tipping culture isn’t the norm everywhere else in the world, just the US. I’ve worked in fast food for years and I never expected a tip, let alone get upset about it. Grown man acting like a child.

Scheduled a haircut online for 12:00pm and they didn't even start cutting my hair until 12:30. Barbershop was completely empty and there were no other clients there, so its not like they were just busy cutting someone else's hair. When I was finally taken back after waiting for so long for no reason, I didn't even so much as get an apology for them wasting my time. Additionally, the guy cutting my hair was rude, short with me, and just seemed like he was in a rush to get me out even though I was the only one in the barbershop and they weren't busy at all. Not sure how this place has so many good reviews, by far the worst customer service I've ever experience at any barbershop and the haircut was average at best. Would NOT recommend this place to anyone. Find another place where they actually respect your time, give you a good haircut, and have decent customer service.

What a gem! All the fellas cut well and have loyal clients. The setup and hospitality is what you'd want from a South Charlotte barbershop. These guys don't just cut my hair, they are like my brothers. Come join the family!

A couple things to say about this awesome place. 1. This is my go-to barbershop. Zach has been cutting my hair for years and has always done a great job! Me personally, I love being a “regular” somewhere and the barbershop is no exception. We chop it up over life, sports, families you name it. Great environment! 2. This is no Great Clips! These guys are trained Master Barbers. You won’t find that at any corporate chain. 3. The majority of their clients are appointments and I encourage you to make an appointment online instead of walking in although they do accept walk-ins. I feel the majority of these negative reviews were probably walk-ins that the guys took on in between appointments. SOMETIMES I’m last minute too and call the shop to ask Zach if he can fit me in that day and 10/10 times he does. So if you don’t have an appointment perhaps call to see when is a good time to walk-in. This is by far the best barbershop in Ballantyne!
