I first started going to Jimmy Bowen in 1975. As a matter of fact, I was in the 6th grade when I walked through his doors alone. At this time, his barber shop was located on Kingshighway--- close to Delmar! When I went off to college I would still come home and go directly to Jimmy barber shop. We had so many great meaningful conversation. His voice was smooth and mellow but his knowledge was bigger than life! Yesssirrrr, Jimmy was more than a barber, he was my mentor, my role model, and my friend. I've lived in Chicago since 1990 and I'll still call Jimmy just to say hello. I have been a Psychotherapist for 25+ years! At the time, Jimmy was my Psychotherapist! Glenn S. What a graceful man!

I went in with a gentleman he came out a superstar she cut the mess out of my boo hair not tryna toot n t ones horn but the lady bad I saw her work I rode with it hung with it baby girl I'll get an edge up next trip for sure NOT TO MENTION MY LIL SUPER HERO WHO HELPED WITH MY CARS BODY OUTSIDE OF THE BARBERSHOP 💈 GOOD PPL ALL AROUND

I've PATRONIZED this place for years they have so much stuff I just don't know what to say .Oh my GOD I would get lost in there looking for things. But the owner knows were everything is wow . Like scoops to Choose . This place has an overwhelming stockpile of essentials in that shop. This place also Has a GREAT BarBer IN there Mr. JIMMY.

The owner was very polite and helpful. He also keeps his door to the business locked which is a great safety precaution in the days and times that were living in.

Old school barbershop, no fuss, no mess. Everything you love about a barbershop. Male and female cutters. Longtime customer, even after moving farther away. A classic establishment to be comfortable bringing kids, ladies, or the fellas. And every barber knows and will razor shave at request. Not just a lining, a true razor shave, laying back!

At Bowens Barber & Beauty Supply the customer service A+. You're greeted upon entering and the place has a real cool vibe. They have everything and anything hair/beauty/ related to mens and womens grooming. If your stomach is growling by they have some wham wham and zoo zoos for you tummy. Drinks galore

Over chargered for a kids hair cut that should be $10 including sponge.. but instead they want to charge $7 to sponge after cutting hair into a mohawk.. other places only charge you $10 and automatically sponge the child's hair
