Upon moving to Kansas City a couple years ago, Gumby became the barber of choice for my two sons. Unfortunately after going through divorce their father failed to pay him for haircuts (I had no knowledge of this.) After their father moved out of state, I became responsible for getting my boys haircut and my oldest, who is 14, did not want to switch barbers as he has grown to be comfortable at Gumbys shop. He has bought T-Shirts and merchandise in support of Gumby. Fast forward, once I tried to set an appointment Gumby would not even speak with me or respond. I spoke with another barber in the shop who then made me aware that my ex did not pay fees and that instead of Gumby, he would be willing to cut my boys hair... I would have been more than glad to pay Gumby for his previous, and future services had i been made aware of this issue yet he would not even speak to me regarding the situation. He held myself and my children accountable for their father's wrongdoing. Although I understand business is business and he has every right to who he services as clients... I do not believe this was a fair decision as I was not responsible for non payment and my boys did not deserve to be thrown away as clients. Business wise, I understand. Morally, I would never support this barber shop again or any of its barbers, as Gumby is the owner. Peace and blessings.

Thank you for leaving a review! Life is very real as we are a family barbershop I too am going through a similar situation and to say the least has affected some of my business decisions. This was in no way personal and we love our community! It is a difficult time for me as well which is no our apology for your disappointment! We appreciate business !

Bestest, friendliest, and most reasonableness barber shop in KC MO. And, the owner is just a very nice person.

Visiting KC for my son’s wedding and realized I needed a haircut. Gumby’s was the only shop around that could take me as a walk-in. Justin took care of me and I also got a recommendation for LCs BBQ next time I’m in KC

I've been coming here for 18 years to get my beard and haircut. Tim Gumby is the owner, David is my regular Barber. Very reasonable prices, thorough and perfection when it comes to your cut.

It's a blessing to come to a barbershop and never have to feel outta place those young men in bface me with kindness and I'm forever blessed by their presence and I thank GOD for those young men and also come to gumby's and get a fresh cut line up trim or what have you..... if you looking for laughter if your looking for sports talk if your looking for someone to talk too and can relate then this is the place to be......

My brother got an awesome cut and shave and he looked 10yrs younger. Tim did an excellent job all in an upbeat positive athomphere. I highly recommend Gumbys Barbershop. Here is his before and after pics.

Hands down 100% the best barbershop in Kansas City. I recently moved from Florida and we all know how hard it is to find a good barbershop and I’ve gone to a few places in the area but I found that I get the best quality haircut at Gumby‘s. The other thing is is that these guys are some most honest people around.It turns out when I went a couple months ago I left my glasses behind specifically Costa Delmar’s which are expensive fishing glasses and cost about a couple hundred bucks. I went back in this morning completely unaware that I had even lost these glasses and was getting my haircut and saw them at a (Barber) station and asked whose glasses they belong too. I wasn’t accusing anybody of taking them I was just surprised to see a pair of them. The barber then explain to me that they been there for a couple months he doesn’t know who they belong to asked if I could look at them and it turns out they were my glasses that I left a couple months earlier. So needless to say this morning I got another amazing haircut and found my glasses but I don’t even know were missing. So it looks like I found my new barbershop in Kansas City for good. I highly recommend this place they do great work and you never have to wait too long!!! Again thank you very much for my glasses and keep up the good work we more barbershops like this place!!!!

My 3 year old son got the best hair cut at Gumbys. Hes gone other places and they act like they can cut a childs hair but they couldn't. Unfortunately those other places messed his beautiful hair up. Gumbys is Godsent FaReal. They fixed the botched up cut and made his mama VERY happy. Go see for yourself.

Tim is an excellent barber. He cares about his customers and enjoys conversations. I'd recommend this barber shop to anyone needing a good, quick haircut
