Mateo is the man hands down. Highly recommended swinging by and giving him a shot. He’s the only one I’ll let cut my hair now. Clean lines and fades. Don’t need to go anywhere else!

Was just looking to take my kiddo to get his hair done and have struggled with barbershops wanting to do his hair due to him having a hard time getting his hair cut, he is almost three. Most shops typically do it fast and won’t give him a chance to adjust to getting his hair done and don’t edge him up or fade him properly and I have not found a barber that would take the time to potentially build a kiddos confidence up or establish trust and a future bond, until I found Hank at TopDawg. Hank took the time that my son needed. He usually cry’s as soon as he sits in the chair and doesn’t stop until the cut is over. Hank talked him through it. No baby talk, just talked with him as if he was a little man. He cried for only a few minutes and did an excellent job sitting in the chair by himself for the first time ever! Hank not only took his time with my son, but even talked about building trust with him, and also got my son’s hair looking AMAZING! He’s a towhead so that is kind of a difficult hair color to fade and make look good! I was so happy with the look when we left! Hank not only build trust with my son, but built trust with me. The vibes he gave off calmed me anxiety; which, in turn calmed my sons as well since we have never had a good experience at barbershops. You can never go wrong with a guy named Hank. Always the most trustworthy guys! We will for sure be a reoccurring customer and 5 stars doesn’t even begin to describe the experience we had today at the shop!

TopDawg is the barbershop to go to in Independence! These barbers are the truth! Crispy clean cuts and beard trims, the works. Family oriented and friendly as well as safe for all. Check out TopDawg!! Your choice of what barber fits you! Mateo, Hank and Puka are the barbers at TopDawg, all three barbers have five star ratings!

A true ' Barber Shop'. Professional, polite and skilled barbers. They spend quality time on perfecting the cut. Perfect, clean straight lines. Highly recommend!

My son loves Mateo! I feel comfortable as a mom there! Logan’s hair is done so perfect! Mateo takes the time to make sure every hair is in place! The shop is so unique! We really give Mateo a 10!!!!

Mateo did a fantastic job with both my son and husand! Honestly the best haircut ive seen on them both! Reasonable pricing and cool environment! Recommended to anyone!

I'm new to the area, and hadn't had my hair cut in quite awhile. I decided to give this place a shot, and my god it is my new go to. Mateo was very professional and amazing at what he does to the point I just told him "you're the professional, so I trust you to do what you do". And I'm glad I did. It was the quickest, cleanest haircut I've ever had. I wish I could rate more than 5 stars. Thank you so much!!

Mateo and the crew are the guys you call whenever you want your haircut nice. I’ve been coming to Mateo now for a couple years and I’ve never left disappointed, without a new story to tell, and just all the way around good vibes when you come to the shop. I’ve recently started bringing both my young boys in to get their haircuts as well for Mateo. My boy has to get haircuts every week now. Five star all around, Great barbers, great people, Environment.
