Sam is an amazing barber and very kind! I totally did not realize he doesn't take digital payment or card, and he was gracious enough to take me at my word that I would return with money later in the day, which I did. The haircut itself was amazing, he totally understood what I wanted from my incredibly vague instructions about preference, and at least 4 different people commented on how nice my hair looked the day after my cut. Definitely returning once my hair is long enough to warrant it, and I'll be sure to have cash.

This is absolutely the best barber shop in the area. He can do any style to perfection. My shave is perfect every time the line up straight on point and always a fun open atmosphere!

One of the best haircuts I've gotten in metro Detroit. I thought I found my new "go to" guy, but after a few months disrespect for the customer was too much: - Often doesn't show up when he's supposed to be open. Today was the last straw. Showed up at 10:30AM and shop is dark. Supposed to open daily at 9AM. No note or indication when he'll be around. This is the third time this has happened, and another time he closed early several hours. This wouldn't be a huge issue if the next problems were addressed. Minus one star. - Does not answer his phone. Shop is supposed to be open so we should be able to call and see what the wait is like, if he's closed for extenuating circumstances, etc. Never answers phone and no voicemail note to customers, so can't tell if he just decided to sleep in or if he's cutting hair. Minus one star. - Does not take appointments. When asked, Sam says that if he does appointments then people who come in with emergency haircut needs will get upset. What...?! What about the loyal customers you have who would book you up with appointments? I'd suggest looking out for their time first. Regrettably, I waited 2.5 hours for a haircut using the walk-in policy last time. Cut was great, as always, but the opportunity cost of 4 hours of my day for a haircut is way higher than going somewhere that takes appointments. I'd be willing to pay for that. Minus one two stars Today was my last day at Sam's (no haircut because he was a no show). I wish him success and would love to come back if he can get the aboves points fixed.

Great atmosphere and sam did an excellent job understanding my haircut after only the first cut! Definitely recommend and will return!

Mediocre Haircuts for 20$. Prices are higher than previously charged. Might as well go to a professional barber for the extra 10$. & pay 30$ Literally took 15 minutes to cut my hair and felt rushed.

I started going to Sam's back in summer of 2019 when I lived on the Eastside. I found out about him through several of my good friends who would always have fresh and crispy fades and immaculate beards. I went in my first time and immediately he made me feel comfortable and after a short discussion of what I was looking for he made a few recommendations and tailored my haircut and beard to fit the way my hair grows specifically. Since that day not a single person has touched my hair or beard and they never will. Sam is more than just a Barber, he's a true artist and his canvas just happens to be in the form of hair. Straight razor shaves are always perfect and smooth as silk. I now live in Taylor and I make the drive out to see him regularly because he's that good. A fade is just a fade , and a line up is just a line up anywhere else, but at Sam's you will get a custom cut and shave that suits you and your personal features. If I could give 100 stars I would. (Oh and the price is unmatched as well)

This was our first time at Sam's. I enjoyed it. It's cash only. There was one guy working (I'm guessing Sam) and one guy getting his hair cut when we walked in. We didn't wait long. I showed Sam a picture of the hair cut my son wanted and Sam delivered. Friendly service. My son is difficult to get to the barber so when the time comes we will definitely be back :)

Very friendly service. Sam seems to remember everyone and makes them feel at home. Hes also doing a great job with Covid-19 mandates! Great job. Highly recommend
