I’ve been to this shop 4 times now, and I’ve gotten a cut by both Sam and Joe. Both do phenomenal work! I can feel the care and passion in their work. 10/10 recommend.

Honestly, I can’t say enough good things about Joe and Sam they are the main reason I’ve been locked in at Choppers for two years straight. I’m in the chair literally every single week for a beard trim and grab a full haircut once a month, so I spend a lot of time here, and they never miss. The consistency is actually crazy; I never have to worry about how it’s going to look when I leave. Beyond just the cut, the shop is always super clean, and the prices are honestly really solid for the quality you get. Joe and Sam are just awesome guys to be around the conversation is always good, and they treat every customer with actual respect. It’s a super welcoming environment, not stiff or awkward like some other places. If you want a fresh cut and a good vibe without overpaying, definitely go see them.

Choppers Barbershop in Livonia is without a doubt one of the top barbershops I have ever been in. The moment you step into the barbershop, you are welcomed and made to feel at home; everybody in the barbershop is friendly and professional and really cares for the people who come to use their services. The place itself has a very relaxing environment. The quality of the haircut is excellent every time! Also, the barbers know their stuff! They take their time and really listen to what you want before they actually proceed to make the desired changes. They don't just rush in and hastily make a change in the hair; I was very impressed! You can tell they take pride not only in the job they do, but also in the overall experience provided. If you are looking for a barbershop that offers both high-quality haircuts and a pleasant experience, Choppers Barbershop is the place to go.

Upon my arrival, I noticed three barbers, each busy with their own clients. The air was filled with the sounds of conversations in languages other than English. This detail becomes significant when it’s your turn for a haircut and the rapport with your barber matters. Typically, I visit a different barber, but this time, they were fully booked until December. I discovered Choppers through a Google search, and it seems they opened in March 2025. After a brief wait, my turn finally arrived. The gentleman who was cutting my hair failed to clean up the clippings left by the previous client. Additionally, he didn’t wash his hands, and I was uncertain about the cleanliness of the tools he used, such as the clippers, combs, and scissors. To be fair, the last customer did receive a thorough hair wash after his cut. As I sat down, the barber seemed to be in a rush, almost as if he were trying to break the sound barrier. He started and finished in no time. There was such a variety of clippers and guards being switched out that I lost track. The barber didn’t engage in conversation with me, even when I tried to initiate one. My attempts at dialogue were met with silence. I suspect that if I had spoken in the language being used around me, the interaction might have been different. While the frantic trimming and cutting were underway, the barber decided that a dry shave with a straight razor was a good choice. I can assure you, it was not! My haircut and trim were completed in record time, and I was rushed to the counter, where there was a strong emphasis on paying with cash rather than a credit card for the $40 fee. Unfortunately, I couldn’t comply with that request. I paid the $40 along with a generous tip. As I was directed toward the counter, my barber gestured in another language for the next client to take a seat while the previous clippings were swept away. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience, and I am left with red pain where the unlubricated straight razor was harshly used. I will not be returning.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Joe is an excellent barber! I’ve been coming here for years, and the service is always fantastic. The whole team is friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this place!

Honestly I hate todo this, but it’s not right. These guys don’t know what they’re doing. They don’t know how to do a low tapper cut and definitely don’t know how to trim my hair. My hair was uneven, you could still see the line from the fade. My beard was uneven. Even a blind man can make it straight. I had to cut my hair almost bold. Not sure how they are in business

Got a cut from Abdullah today. I went there just wanting a run of the mill haircut. I'm 40-something with thinning hair and generally am annoyed by having to get a haircut because so few people cut to my liking, or know how to do it without making me look like I'm cosplaying as Doug Funnie. This dude intuitively knew what to do, and is a true artisan. Even my son - a 9 year old who notices nothing - randomly told me that my haircut is awesome. If you're a dude looking for an upgraded look, I highly recommend checking this place out.

I’ve been looking for a new barber and Choppers did not disappoint. With a wedding tonight and my mother’s funeral in a couple of days, it was important to look my best. The gentleman cutting my hair was quiet, and I did not catch his name, but I have no complaints whatsoever about the service. He spent more time giving me a precision cut than I can recall anyone else having done in the past, and I’m in my 70s. The same was true for the beard trim and shave he gave me. The price was very reasonable and my wife was impressed. I will be a returning customer.

Jo is the best in town, it’s really worth the drive just to have my hair cut, clean, fast, accurate. They are the best. 👌
