I’ve been going to Raphael’s for 15+ years and love it. I always ask for Ebrahim, the owner, or Sonny, his son. I’ve never had a bad haircut and the prices are very reasonable.

I stopped in for a fade and beard trim and left really happy. The cut was sharp, clean, and done quickly without feeling rushed. Service was professional, and the shop had a good vibe.

Convenient and friendly staff. Dean did a great job listening to what I wanted and working around it.

Probably one of the most subpar places for a haircut I've ever been to. Yes it's a little cheaper than some other barbers, but the staff is pretty dull and non welcoming and the haircuts themselves are pretty unreliable. There's better options, so don't waste your time here.

I used to be a regular customer here seven years ago. This place is now the worst barbershop in the DMV area. The guy with tattoos on his face is probably the worst barber in the world. I asked for a low fade and instead I got high uneven fade.

I've had the best and the worst haircut I've ever had here. Be aware of who is cutting your hair. It varies wildly. Never know what level of quality you'll end up with. Finding a new place...

This was my first barber experience in Silver Spring. Tamara was very pleasant, experienced, and polite. I needed a shave, beard trim and cut. I keep my hair short, so it was not too hard. Although I had not shaved in two weeks, Tamara did a close shave with an electric razor. The rates are reasonable and the facility is clean. I will return.

The barbers here are great. I've been looking for a new barber that knows how to cut curly hair for a year and this place delivered. The whole cut was less than 30 minutes, I got exactly what I asked for, and at a reasonable price. I wish I had gotten the name of the barber for the review cuz he did a spectacular job. In terms of prices, it was 30 dollars which I feel was very reasonable. All around a great experience and I can't wait to come back again.

I really want to give this place a better review. I’ve gone about six or eight times and the people are genuinely very kind and hospitable. The issue is that the results are just wildly inconsistent. I ask for the same thing every time and, depending on who is free, walk out with a much shorter haircut than I asked for half the time. If you are not fussy, it’s a good value. But if you like to keep your hair longer on top, I’d either suggest somewhere else or be prepared to wait for one of the veteran barbers.

Luis and Sonny are both great barbers and would recommend going to them. Today I was cut by the older gentleman in the middle and it was a bit of an upsetting experience. As he was attempting to cut my hair, which is thick and curly, he asked me "does anyone like your hair?" This caught me off guard as it's not a question I expect to hear from my barber that I am paying. He then continued to complain that next time I need to condition my hair so he can cut it better. The only issue, as I tried to explain to him, is that when I condition my hair it becomes very curly and makes it a bit difficult to get an even cut, which is why I had picked it out and threw it into a bun. The majority of barbers I go to will spray my hair before they cut it. He had a spray bottle of water on the counter and never touched it until he was finished cutting my hair. He pretty much gave up on cutting my hair and with the attitude he had towards my hair texture I was done as well. He didn't even cut my part like I requested, but I was tired of hearing him sigh and talk mess about my hair that I did not even try to get him to add it. I now have to find another barber to touch up the areas he was unable to do and pay for 2 cuts instead of 1. If I do decide to ever return I will not be allowing him to cut my hair. If you do not have thin straight hair please avoid this barber at all cost!
