I just the most insane experience in my life. I walked in on October 9, 2025 at 1:10 pm. There was one barber available, the receptionist told me he was waiting for his appointment but his appointment was 10 min late. The receptionist asked the barber if he could take me and the barber said yes. I was seated in the chair and the barber was about to start but his appointment showed up. He immediately told me that I have to stand up since his appointment is here. So I was basically kicked out. Absolutely insane experience. I'm never stepping my foot in Floyd's barber shop again. The barbers name is Q.

I was in need of a haircut for an event the same day. I was initially relieved I could get an appointment that would leave me enough time to prepare for my commitment. I arrived 10min early for my appointment, checked in and was advised to have a seat and they would be right with me. As I sat there 5 other customers arrived and were taken back for their appointments within a couple of minutes. 20 minutes after my appointment time, and now worried about making my commitment on time, I asked the receptionist what was happening with my appointment. He looked over towards the person with whom I was scheduled, and said "They're not finished with their customer" No explanation as to why, no apology, just too bad he's not ready for you. I can understand someone running late, but I should have been informed they were running late when I checked in. It would have been courteous to say something when it was past my appointment time. and acknowledge that fact. It would have been nice to know how much longer it was going to be. Without any information or concern communicated. I was left with no other option, but to cancel my appointment and race to a local barber in the hopes of getting my hair cut. Lesson learned I should have gone there in the first place as he was able to accomodate me, and keep me on schedule. This episode was a perfect example of poor customer service. No concern for my time, or value as a customer. So much could have been done to make this better, but it just wasn't a priority.

I recently visited Floyd’s Barbershop in Rockville, MD for the first time, making a 30-minute drive for a haircut, beard trim, and adjustment. I have to say — it was absolutely worth the time, effort, and money. Reese, the barber who worked with me, was fantastic from start to finish. He patiently listened to my preferences, explained his plan clearly, and even offered multiple options based on what would suit me best. He was confident (and rightfully so) that he could deliver a better haircut than the barber I had been loyal to for the past 10 years — and he did not disappoint. Now, I find myself wondering if my old barber will ever be able to catch up to Reese’s level — and honestly, I wouldn’t think twice about making the trip to Rockville every time for a cut. Reese also thoughtfully documented the haircut details in my phone and handed me his business card, encouraging me to reach out anytime with questions. He was also a great conversationalist, making the entire haircut experience fly by without me even noticing the time. All in all, this was easily one of the best barber experiences I’ve had — highly recommend giving it a try if you’re considering it. Just be warned: you might find yourself permanently raising your standards for a good haircut.

Not giving these guys a one-star because they’re normally pretty good. This time around though the customer service was pretty bad. I showed up about 10 minutes early for my appointment and ended up having to wait 10 minutes after it was scheduled because the person who was supposed to help me was on their break. To try help me the receptionist had me come back to the barbers chair and off rip the guy was pretty rude. It looked like he couldn’t be bothered. But it’s a Sunday afternoon, there’s not really anyone else in the store. I will say I mistakenly scheduled the wrong type of appointment for a shape up instead of a trim and the barber didn’t specialize in any scissor work. His confusion with what service I was asking for was warranted but his attitude really wasn’t. I tried to explain what I wanted and he acted like I was wasting his time when the store was visibly dead and there weren’t any other clients being helped. I got up and decided to leave as the person who was supposed to help me showed up 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment.

Clark is great, very good at his craft. He’s legit the only reason I go here. It’s the management of the barbershop that is sloppy. Today may have been the 3rd time I had an appointment cancelled on me by them after having it booked and ready to go for 2-3 days. They just apologize and keep on moving with their day like they didn’t just inconvenience you greatly. Then they offer you to just get cut by anyone there. I obviously chose the barber I wanted to cut my hair, and it was permissible the first or second time because things happen. However, this is now a pattern. Not to mention they never have hair texture powder or the products you need to purchase when you’re there. At this stage I’m considering just moving on to another barber unfortunately.

Pro: You will get what you want! They take their time, they care about their craft. The barbers are personable. The atmosphere is inviting. The haircut was spot on! Kendall is fantastic. Con: Color can pricy is wacky. Paid 140 to dye my hair to an ash blonde, thing is I have a 1 all around and a 2-3 on the top. (Photo) But I’ll be back!

Fantastic experience in every way. Kendall provided truly exceptional service with one of the best fades I’ve gotten (the pic is from 3 days after the haircut, which is still looking great I think!). The conversation was warm and welcoming, and I felt treated like a VIP even though it had been a while since I had been there. My use of promotional offer did not alter the caring and thoughtful attention I received. Thank you, Floyd’s, and special well-deserved shout-out to Kendall. When you go to a barbershop you expect the stylist be the role model with organized and beautiful hairs. Well don’t expect it here. The staff are friendly and the shampoo is good. However my experience was really bad because I showed a picture of my previous cut at other places and asked my stylist to do the same with good amount of hair, however she didn’t pay any attention, per her usual style of work had my chair against the mirror so I wasn’t seeing what she was doing or how much she is cutting my hair. Till I got worried and stopped her and turned back to mirror to see my self and guess what?! I was almost bold on the side of my hair! As much as some people like that style I don’t and it wasn’t what I asked for! I was shocked! She apologized but what was done was done! I ended up paying for the whole cut which was bad with 18% tip, as a courtesy, since I was so upset she waived the shampooing for me but still I was mad and would never go back there!

Definitely try out Floyd's. I wanted to lighten my hair to platinum blonde and also trim a few inches off my ends. My friend Kathy, a stylist here, recommended I book an appointment with Stephen, the shop manager, so I did. When I first walked in the shop, I was greeted by the friendly staff at the front desk. The shop had a cool vibe and sleek decor with all the wall art and awesome playlist. What would normally take me a 6+hr session at other salons, Stephen finished in just about under 4hrs and the results were exactly what I wanted. He's such a knowledgable person and manages the shop extremely well and professional.

Hello peeps! 💜 I can’t believe this place doesn’t have a better rating, because this was my favorite barber shop experience since cutting my super short one year ago. I have gone to many of the other shops in the area, but this was an experience above and beyond my expectations ✨💓✨ My hair stylist was Sarah and she cut my hair absolutely perfectly! I have never been so happy when leaving a barber shop 🙌🏼 Huge bonus: when you get your hair shampooed, they give you a hot towel on your face and it feels amazing 😊 Go go go! 🥰
