I usually get digital perms annually and her work is by far the best Korean salon for it in the MoCo area, in my opinion. Perm solution does not dry out, nor create kinks from improper roll technique (which becomes brittle at the kink and fall off). Recently went in for a layered haircut, and she did a phenomenal job. Detailed work on cutting the layers to blend in naturally. There can be a wait so plan accordingly and recommend calling to set an appointment.

Ms. Sun has a strong understanding of Korean hair styles and works hard to give her customers what they want. She is constantly looking for ways to improve and in my experience is the best Korean salon in the area. Highly recommend

I've been letting my digital perm settle and it's been a little over a week since I got it and I'm super happy with how it turned out. I just showed her a reference photo and she did her magic. Not only that but I also didn't realize my hair was damaged, so she added protein to the treatment and I can definitely tell my hair has been healthier. Definitely worth the price and will be coming back the next time I need a perm!

This was my second visit to Salon Sun, and I’m convinced she’s the only person allowed to touch my hair from now on. I used to have super long hair, chopped it into a long bob last summer, and she made it look amazing. I tried a closer salon later and immediately regretted that life choice. I couldn’t reach her by phone this time, so I literally just showed up. She already had a client but still fit me in, and my new short layered bob came out really cute and easy to manage. The price is great, the skill is even better, and yes… I will happily drive all the way from Frederick for her. Worth the drive. Worth the trust. Never cheating on this salon again.

So, I've been here 4 separate times the past year and I can say with absolute certainty that this will be my regular place so as long as it's in business. There have been some communication problems via text, but it's mostly my fault and resolved in-person. Despite that, the service itself is immaculate and it doesn't feel like shortcuts were taken and I was also given self-care tips afterwards to make sure it maintains the shape I want it to. The perming process itself is pretty long, so you'd need to set time aside for it, but otherwise the results have been great! I have a lot of hair, but it's thin so it naturally speaking it's been hard to style, especially as I made the decision to grow out my hair. Perming was the solution and instead of spending 30 bucks every month for a haircut to keep it short, I'd rather spend 120 for a haircut AND perm to keep it long and nice for 4-5 months. I am generally a person with no self-confidence and I feel that after my visits to Salon Sun it's been amazing for me socially. I just generally feel better when looking at the mirror every morning and people really like my grown out hair as well. I am glad to have discovered this place local to me and am always looking forward to go back! Down below: the first two photos are as of the past week's visit, and the third and forth photo are the after and before photos from my first ever visit last July!

i had 1 bad experience at a hair salon 7 years ago which led me to only do my hair from home since. recently my roots had grown out really badly & i wanted to take a break from coloring/bleaching my hair. i had an important event this weekend so i decided this would be the time i go back to a salon & get it dyed back to black professionally. sun was able to fit me into her busy schedule last min & was incredibly accommodating & kind. i felt very relaxed during my hair appointment & had no hair salon anxiety. sun made sure to highlight items like how damaged and dry my hair was (from me consistently bleaching at home)& offered solutions to help. i love the final hair result & i left with my hair feeling silky smooth!! will be back again to get my hair cut :) pics are results & before with my lighter hair & grown out roots

I just moved from another state and discovered this salon. I had my hair straight permed a week ago and today, had it colored as Ms. Sun did not want to do them at the same time so as not to damage my hair. I used to always have my hair done by the best Korean salon back in my home country and Ms. Sun did not fall short of my expectations. She did it exactly how I wanted to and the result was great. On top of that, she served me a hot Korean coffee. I left the salon with a smile on my face. I'll surely be a regular customer of Ms. Sun.
