Quick, quality barbershop haircut for a reasonable price. In and out in ~30 minutes as a walk-in. Seems to specialize in African hair, though certainly all are welcome--European ancestry here, and I'm very happy.

Barbershop is dirty. Sly will just give you whatever cut he feels like. He'll be on the phone for most of it. At one point he dropped the guard for his trimmer on the floor, picked it back up, lazily sprayed some barbicide on it, and used it again -- I should have left before I even sat down. My cut might have looked nice if I were Black. I'm not. I looked like a potato.

using alt account! anyway, MIT student here. The barber just does his own thing with your hair tbh (i.e., he basically took out the top volume of my hair, and I specifically said not to). He was also on call continuously laughing, which ofc diluted his focus. And then broski took his own tip instead of giving me the right change (i.e., paid $40, cut was $25, but he himself chose to give back $30, I mean it's not cool taking your own tip imo). but all things aside, you still come out with a mid cut 💔

I just got here in Cambridge for a week and badly need a haircut. Saw this barbershop in google and the cheap price got me. But I regret not reading the reviews before going. I booked an appointment over the phone but still I had to wait for more than 30 mins when I arrived. And he seemed not focus on his work. He is always on his phone calling/video chatting someone. And when he sprayed that hair liquid, he is unbothered if he sprayed your entire face. Very unprofessional. I got a taper cut but ended the worst haircut ever. For sure, Im not coming back. I just wasted 25$. That Hollywood Best Barber Trophy in his shop IS A JOKE!

We LOVE Sly’s!!! Easy to book online, reasonably priced kids cuts. When we arrive Sly is always incredibly welcoming and does a fantastic job cutting my kids hair quickly while not sacrificing quality. I recommend this place to everyone! Thanks Sly!

I am new to the Cambridge area, and paid $25 for a nice fade haircut. The booking system is simple and easy to follow. I am not very good with English since I'm from PR, but Sly was very welcoming and extroverted, which helped me relax (since I've had problems in the past with communicating with Barbers in other States). The place was really clean and was very welcoming, which felt really good. I'm usually used to long 1-2 hour haircuts (which I really dread) but Sly cut my hair in 13 minutes. It's also one of the best fades I've received in a long time. I highly recommend this barbershop, they really know their stuff and how to treat their customers!

I came here because my boyfriend needed a haircut and we scheduled an appointment for the same day online—the online booking was very easy. When we arrived, Sly cut the hair very fast, it only took about 15 minutes for a skin fade that looked really good (see photo)! He was super friendly and nice, we chatted about his 20+ years of hair cutting experience while he cut my boyfriend’s hair. The shop was pretty clean and welcoming as well. Also, during the appointment, I heard someone call about a walk in appointment right before closing time, and Sly was able to fit them in as he seemed very flexible and kind. The pricing was super reasonable too. It was about $25 for a fade. Definitely recommend this barber shop!

I came last week for the first time after a couple friends recommended. I was pleased with my haircut. Sly is a great guy and you can tell that he is someone that truly cares about the people he is serving and the people love him. His prices are very affordable. I highly recommend him.

Sly was so friendly and kind so I hate to have to leave a not so happy review but the results weren't the best. I booked the day before for a haircut for my birthday. Sly was super personable and knew my name and made me comfortable. Being a queer woman, it's intimidating entering a classic barbershop space but I didn't feel intimidated here and he treated me like any other customer (even a little special after I told him my bday was the next day). He charged me $31 for a cut with lineup, eyebrows, and two designs. And I left a tip of course. My issues are with the quality of the cuts. My eyebrows were the hardest pills to swallow. One side he did a decent job on, keeping the shape I like and making them look clean. The other side...looked completely different as he took essentially the top part of the corner of my eyebrow off. It's been a week and it's growing back but every time I look in the mirror I think "oh my god, he took my eyebrow." It doesn't look great so I wouldn't recommend that service. I had confidence because it was one of the offered services and I think what happened was he may have slipped when he was on the phone and doing my brow (not great when a razor is involved so maybe get someone else to answer the phone for appointments other than the barber). There wasn't an option to request a design so that was a bit of a surprise to him when I came. He tried his best to give me two heart designs: one broken, the other a regular heart. I attached some pictures (my hair's red because it was for Valentines day) to show the design, cut, and eyebrows. I'd say the hearts were a little off but overall he did a decent job at freehanding those designs. The line up and fade were pretty good but I will say I left with my skin pretty irritated which has only happened at a few different barbershops, usually when the barber rushes the cut and/or is a bit rough with the clippers. The irritation was around my hair line which I really noticed when I dyed my hair because extra lines showed up where the red stained the scabs from when he was pressing the clippers into my skin. So I'm guessing he pressed a little too hard. He nicked me a few times on the forehead while doing the eyebrow shave with the razor as well. The shop was small but clean and there was one other barber in there. The atmosphere was fun and he seemed very covid conscious which I appreciated. Other places have asked me to take my mask off or don't clean their tools very well. Overall, I think 2 stars is fair for kind, quick, and clean service and a good lineup, keeping in mind that more complicated cuts and eyebrows may not be the go to here.

I’d gone to Sly’s several times because of the convenient price and location, but this sadly will be my last time. The barber was uneven around my entire head and by the time he freestyled my bangs way to short and even took a set of clippers to my bangs, the lack of professional behavior was clear. Nice team but be careful what you’re getting into.
