C is very precise. I rarely leave reviews but the level of attention and care taken in every hair cut is amazing. I didn't expect to find a barber shop on the east coast that is able to fade well but this is my go to whenever I need a good haircut

Best barber ever. He’s the only barber who can precisely cut and fade my son’s curly hair. Great service and conversation. Highly recommend!

My son has no fear of the barber. Corrance was his first barber at age 1! He now looks forward to getting his hair cut! My son is all smiles in the chair and on the way out. His cut is also always fresh.

I went there a week ago on short notice to get a cut for my good friend’s wedding. I had never been there before as my usual barbershop is closed. CJ went and gave me one of the best fades and beard trim I’ve ever had for a reasonable price. That dude can cut hair. 5 stars without question.

New to the neighborhood, looking for a new barber, and decided to try East Coast based on proximity to my apartment and the good reviews. Man, I’m glad I did! CJ gave me one of the best cuts I’ve ever had! In retrospect, I wish I’d given him an extra big tip. He took the time to ask me exactly what I wanted, and then he delivered. Not too short, not too long, just right... a perfect cut for me! I’ll definitely be a repeat customer.

CJ is the best barber around. You won't get a better cut anywhere else. He can cut every hair type. Great atmosphere and conversation. I recommend making an appointment. If you don't it's definitely still worth the wait.

Wow! Today was my first time going to this barber shop. I went here after looking at reviews for barbershops in the Cambridge area...and it wasn't an easy choice. Overall, I'm 100% glad I came here and I'm happy to come back. The owner and barber, CJ (or CeeJay), is skilled at giving fades and using sissors. If you need a fade, line up and or trim at the top, try CJ out. He has been cutting hair for 30 years and it shows in his work. I recommend scheduling an appointment since he'll take you over walk-ins. But he only schedules appts on every hour (ex: 9, 10 or 11..etc). Thiis is to accommodate walkins. By the way, he took his time to ensure I got what I wanted. I didn't communicate well about my fade, and I wanted more trimmed. He was more than happy to do it even though it took an extra 10 minutes. Love my hair! I will be going back for my haircuts. Since I recently moved here, he will be earning my trust for the time being (this is a big process for me). Other feedback for CJ: I've gotten fades before and they didn't hurt as much. I'm not sure if you are using a different technique since I'm not a barber but it felt at certain moments that you were really digging into my skin on the sides. There was no pain or redmarks afterwards, so no big deal. And I completely understand if this is the procedure for fades; I've just never felt this before. Thanks a million, CJ.

I recently moved to Boston and needed a new local barber. There's a reason East Coast Barber was the highest rated shop near me. From when you walk in and read "What happens in the Barbershop stays in the Barbershop" you know the place is great. Great friendly banter with great affordable haircuts. It's clear that CJ has been cutting hair for 15 years +. He knows he's art and takes time/care with each cut. I couldn't recommend this Barbershop high enough. 5/5 star!

Great vibe, great music, great conversation. Found this place in early 2017. CJ is a positive guy, laughing and conversational with everyone in the room while he cuts hair. I walked in on a Saturday around 1:00pm and there were 6-7 guys ahead of me, but I waited. He stayed late past close on a Saturday , even as his wife showed up at close to also wait. And even with the crowd, he took his time - I watched each guy from 13-60 years old leave with killer haircuts. Good price. 10/10 look no further.
