I’ve been going to Charlies Barbershop for a lil over a year now and it’s easily the best spot in the Boston area! The shop has a relaxed, friendly vibe and you can tell everyone there really cares about their craft. I book with Michael and he always gets it exactly right, always great conversations too! Never feels rushed, prices are fair, and I always leave feeling fresh and confident. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a reliable barber in the area.

I've been going to this place for a few years. They always ask you what you want first and do a great job. Mike is really skilled with the clippers. best barber shop in the Somerville/Cambridge area.

Charlie Bassile is the best! I have been getting my hair cut there for almost 10 years. He’s talented, responsive, reasonable in price - and completely reliable. I also have had an excellent experience -- many times -- with Michael Pach, who has tremendous skills. Both are good listeners and will give you the haircut you ask for. If you are new in town and you are looking for new barbershop, I strongly recommend that you visit these guys!

The best barbershop I have been to. I have been going regularly for a couple years, and I always book an appointment with Michael. He is very kind and very professional, and he gives excellent haircuts. Would highly recommend!

Charlie's is quick and friendly. Michael gives a no-nonsense, exacting haircut with a lot of attention to detail. I've moved out of the area and still make the trip to Charlie's because it's such a reliable haircut.

TL;DR: Great cut! But bring cash. Charlie will take care of you! Booked through Google/SquareUp, not the shop’s own site — unfortunately Google and SquareUp had no mention anywhere that it’s cash-only (not the barber's fault, they have no control over how Google and SquareUp list them). Found out mid-haircut when another customer realized the same thing. Turns out, in an emergency, you could use Venmo or Zelle, but in order to keep this place affordable, you really should try and bring cash. I misunderstood that option and ended up walking to the ATM to withdraw cash. Love the cut and I'll be back.

As a repeat customer, I highly recommend Charlie's. They are skilled, professional, and kind. I am someone who doesn't always know how to specify what I am looking for in a cut. Michael has been particularly helpful in translating my preferences. He is receptive, responsive, and attentive to detail. The prices are reasonable and are punctual with appointment times. Just don't forget they take cash only.

I’ve been getting my hair cut by Michael for quite a while now, and he’s honestly amazing. Every time I walk out of the shop, I feel fresh and confident. He’s super patient, really pays attention to the little details, and always makes sure I’m happy with the result. The whole place has a great vibe—clean, relaxed, and friendly. I always look forward to my appointments here. Can’t recommend Michael enough!

Hands down the best barbershop in the area. Very welcoming and professional, with a nice atmosphere. Michael has been my barber for years and even though I've moved several times I always come back here, even though there are plenty of closer options. You can tell they take a lot of pride in their work and the care and expertise is obvious the moment you sit down. Very much recommended, I wouldn't go anywhere else for the best haircuts in Cambrige, because the best haircuts are at Charlie's!
