Floyd’s 99 Barbershop is great. Such nice people and a great atmosphere especially for new people like me. Moving from Australia last year I found Floyd’s as my new go to barbershop. The staff are super nice especially Nikki. She was very friendly and efficient and if you’re into tattoos, you’ll get along well with her. Thank you Floyd’s 99 barbershop for a great experience.

Since 2018, I have consistently enjoyed my visits, never experiencing any disappointments. The application facilitates the swift and hassle-free booking of appointments, while the timely reminders ensure my punctuality. The talent showcased at Floyd’s is truly remarkable. I have had the privilege of consulting Headliner stylist Vanessa, whose expertise is unparalleled. Additionally, as always, I have encountered Dave, a true professional who should undoubtedly be a Headliner. His exceptional barbering skills are evident in his meticulous attention to detail and impeccable clean work. Dave’s ability to shape my mustache in a flattering manner, a task I could not accomplish myself, is truly impressive. Each visit to Floyd’s and my interactions with these exceptional artists have been nothing short of extraordinary.

Unfortunately I can't shake this feeling of disappointment with my experience. I never like to simply assume the intentions of people, but I can't find any other reason why I was paired up with a specific barber other than because we share the same ethnicity/race. The reason why I say this is because when booking online through my phone, there's a section where I'm able to "Add a Note / Attachment." And here, I specified that I wanted someone who could shear cut, or be comfortable using scissors. And unfortunately, that was not the case here. My barber had trouble using them. I've been with barbers who are pros are it, and some that aren't. You can tell halfway through the cut if someone knows how to scissor cut or not. Listen, I've had worse haircuts in my life. I came out looking "presentable", but you don't go out of your way to pay someone to cut your hair and to feel like they did "okay." No, you want to feel good. Scratch that, you want to feel great. And unfortunately, I'll have to go somewhere else tomorrow to fix the imbalances from the cut. That's more money, more time, but realistically, something a customer shouldn't have to do when immediately coming out of a barbershop. The point is, I should have been paired up with someone that aligned with the type of haircut I wanted. Not with the idea that a specific person would make me "feel more comfortable" because of my name or race. And if it's simply because the barber was next available, it actually makes it worse because now you've assigned someone that wasn't a good match for me. That's like setting up someone up for a skin fade when they have hair that is 8 inches long but want to get a wolf cut. It just doesn't work. I'm sure the barber can do killer skin fades (per their bio), but that's not what I wanted. I stayed cordial, I paid, and I gave a tip. I'm never going to disrespect the workers, because ultimately everyone is just trying to do their best. But I can't come back. There's a lot of good barbers and stylists around the area. Floyd's 99 will unfortunately be just another one I pass by.

Fun environment and kind staff. I loved that when booking the appointment, I could read about each barber and choose someone based on their interests. I ended up picking someone who plays the drums, since that’s a passion of my son’s too. The awesome fade was the cherry on top.

I’ve been going to Floyd’s in Vernon Hills for one reason, Raf G. He’s an incredible barber, always delivers a great cut, and the conversation is just as good. Raf is super laid-back and genuinely friendly, which makes the whole experience easy. As someone with haircut anxiety, it means a lot knowing I can fully trust him. It can be hard to find a stylist who truly listens and executes exactly what you want, but Raf does every time. I 100% recommend him!

Cool place. Dondy is amazing.....so friendly and sweet....and she gives amazing haircuts....never had anyone cut my hair right until Dondy. My family followed her from another establishment. She is the only one we will go to to get Mine and my 2 boys hair cut.

I had an excellent experience at Floyd’s Barbershop in Vernon Hills. Ashley K. gave me one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had—she was professional, friendly, and made the whole experience comfortable from start to finish. Her attention to detail and skill really showed, and she made sure I left looking sharp and completely refreshed. The shop itself has a great vibe, but Ashley’s welcoming attitude and expertise made the visit stand out. Highly recommend booking with her if you want a top-notch cut and great service.

Love this place. As a woman who likes my short hair, I find that not enough salons really know how to do short hair. A coworker suggested Floyds and Ive never looked back. Great vibe and all the people are super down to earth. Brought my Son and Fiancé and they were treated great. I chose Vanessa, she always gives me a great haircut.

Lacey is very knowledgeable about different hair styles. She explains what she is going to do and makes my son and daughter feel very comfortable. She makes excellent suggestions. Lacey takes a lot of care into showing both of them how to style their hair. My son is very quiet and Lacey makes him feel comfortable. My daughter is very talkative and was super excited to get a wolf cut. Lacey talked a lot with her and made her feel extra special.
