Was recommended to get my haircut by Angie, my girlfriend used to get her kids haircuts with her and they liked her. I told her what I wanted, she executed it to perfection. I didn't even show her a picture of my previous haircuts. She took her time, was great conversation and I'd happily go back. Thanks Angie!

Just came from Mad Men in Schaumburg. It could NOT have gone worse! The barber was uncooperative, and argumentative. When I expressed dissatisfaction, he told me my hair was parted in the wrong place, and that I failed to tell him, "in inches", exactly how much I wanted cut off. When I went to pay, I expected the "Senior" rate ($20), but was told that it had changed, and it was now $25. The owner told me "I haven't updated the website yet". She then pointed to 2 signs on the front desk...1 was printed and showed the $20 rate, and the other was handwritten (red marker), yet only mentioned the elimination of the Senior rate as of 10/1. I could not be more disappointed in the haircut, or the attitudes displayed.

Thank you for your response. However, the entire point of a consultation is to help us figure out what you are looking for, especially when we have never cut your hair before. When you give vague answers or say an “old man cut,” that tells us nothing. When you are unable to tell any barber what you want and are left to “figure it out,” you run the risk of us or any professional doing what we think is best. As far as the $20 senior cut that was ALWAYS on Tuesdays and that is stated right on the actual menu on the website and still is. It is also stated on the menu at the desk you are referring to. But like the sign on the desk and the door, we are going through a price increase and menu change, and we are no longer offering senior cuts at all, which is also stated on both very clear signage. But aside from all of this, today is Thursday, not Tuesday, so even if we did still offer it, you wouldn’t have received it anyways because, like I’ve said. <br>12 times now it’s Thursday

When I walked in, 2 employees stopped their conversation to greet me. I was a couple minutes early so I waited for the barber to finish his previous appointment. My appointment started on time and Erwin did a fantastic job. Overall the experience was great and I will be a regular moving forward. Not sure what the bad reviews are all about, everything is customer focused and I felt like they actually care about their quality of work.

Thank you so much! It was great meeting you.

I've driven past Mad Men for years and since my usual stylist was unavailable I figured I'd drop in on my way to work. The hours posted on the door show them as open on Tu-Fri from 10-7 so I parked and walked up. The door was locked. Someone was in there but not responding to my waving. When I knocked, she answered and informed me that the business is actually closed on Wednesdays. When I suggested updating the posted hours on the door window, she stated that the website, Yelp, & Google hours are current and that the door isn't getting updated. That didn't sit well with me. I wasn't going to post a review at all until I looked at this google page. A lot of the business's responses to the negative reviews, while entertaining, really show a culture that consistently blames the customer when they share a bad experience, in some cases publicly shaming them (some examples of the business responses end with things like "have the day you deserve" and "I can only write the policy, not force you to read and comprehend it."). This is exactly the vibe I got when instead of just saying something along the lines of "oh yeah, our hours are wrong, we should get that updated, sorry for the inconvenience" she instead deflected as if the information listed online was relevant to a potential customer physically standing in front of their door, where that same information is stickered on there incorrectly. *This experience does not reflect the quality of the work done by the stylists.*

I have been going here for over three years and never had any issues. This month, I got my first bald fade, and for the past few days I have been getting nothing but compliments. Angie did a great job. The place is always very clean. High marks and strong recommendation.

Always dead. I went in for a hard part combover. It was too high. Saw someone else the next time and they said to make sure I come there so I don’t get a high hard part. 🤣 Had a personal emergency and had to cancel the day of but before the appointment. They charged me full price. I’ve never had a barber shop do that. It much be because nobody wants to go there and they trying to stay alive. Don’t believe the friends and family reviews. Edit: It’s weird that she assumed I’m not from the US in her reply. 10 year navy vet born in southern Illinois. I did not call 5 minutes after the appointment. Maybe by the time she enter it into the system. Then she also said it was ok on the phone. Why should I even bother calling? Worst barbershop I’ve even been to. Closest to where I live, but the drive will be worth it.

Thank you for your review. However, you’re someone that books online and in our policy, which is clearly written online and it’s clearly written in the confirmation email you received and it’s clearly written in House less than 24 hours you get charged half of your service that no call no-show you get a full charge, you did not call before the service started. You called five minutes after the appointment started. it’s also clear to me that you probably don’t frequent other businesses very often because every business in the United States has certain policies every barbershop and Salon also has the same policies. If you’re looking for a business, that doesn’t have those kind of policies maybe you should stick to great clips.

Most of the reviews I am reading are complaining of an individual barber... not the shop itself. I wish people would understand this not a place to 0 star a place because of one bad visit. The BUISNESS itself has been great every time I have gone in. Also, they stick to their policies which are clearly outlined. I have even asked questions about certain policies when I didn't understand and the owner, Angela, answered any and all inquiries I had and was super friendly and accommodating. I do not agree with slamming a business because of one employee (who is not there anymore from what I have seen on my visits) or a persons lack of reading comprehension but alas, I digress. I have been coming to this place since it opened and have yet to have a negative interaction. It is in a great location and I have never had an issue whatsoever. Cannot recommend enough!

Just moved in the neighborhood and this place is literally 2 blocks away from me. So I figured I would give them a shot. I spend 50 a week on my beard. So I walked in and I was greeted right away with an attitude. Asked if I have an appointment because they are completely booked for the day. Which by the way just one client was seated. Which is fine. But the attitude and lack of customer service is what made me say I wouldn’t give this place any of my money. Ur in the customer service industry the least u can do is smile and talk to people. My wife has a salon and she would never make someone feel so left out. I’ll take my money to Streamwood barbers. Way more respectful and do a great job.

Worst experience with the recent visit couple of days back. Shampoo is not included but still the price remains same. Quality of the hair cut was also bad. In spite of telling to clean the side burns they left it half way. Also the back side cut for me was completely pathetic. I have attached the photos. I wish there was option of 0 or negative rating.
