There was no other place that would take me in on Christmas Eve until I had called this place up and Alfredo answered the phone. He was willing to wait for me to get there and fill me in for a haircut. He was a nice guy and knew what he was doing. He was a genuine guy who was passionate about what he does. I also had the chance to meet the owner and he was a really great guy. Overall the service and the people were more than 10/10.

I was a walk in and there was only one guy in the chair and he told I’d have to wait or come back so I took a seat and waited. He said only another 20 minutes but it ended up being over an hour that I waited. When it was my turn, I asked to just trim the top a little, don’t touch the back and taper/fade around my ears. He completely chopped the back as well as cut me to where a week later there is still a solid red mark and scabbing. He gave me 1/2 off because messed up but I didn’t realize my neck was cut until I got home and the haircut itself was very painful

Shout Out to Jorge IG : @8o8barber of #MundeleinBarberLounge, .. who not only saw me same day, on a Friday evening, .. but stayed late to take me that minute. I appreciate your accommodation (& your hustle little Brother!). Thank you for your flexibility, .. kindness, professionalism, .. and making my gorgeous sweet Grandson happy. But in full honesty - I hope he learns to re-love and embrace his curls again (sooner than later someday). ;-)

Haircut was average but beard trim was shockingly bad. My face was cut in 5 different places. Did the opposite of what I asked on certain areas. Mustache is completely uneven. Don't understand how it was acceptable or allowed to walk out. Would not recommend.

I went here for the first time, never having gotten traditional cuts that you get at a barber shop like a fade. I basically asked my barber Eddie to do whatever he thought might look nice since I didn’t know what I wanted and he gave me a great fade and length on the top. Felt really welcome here

Attempted to schedule appt twice for my son to no avail. First time with Rich, made an appt for 1 August, a Saturday at 3pm, but he then texted me and said it was a overbook miscommunication, so we rescheduled for the next day, 2 August at 1pm. Got a text an hour before appt saying he doesn't have key to get in shop and asked me to call back during week to rebook. I just went to another barber at that time. Realizing things happen, I decided to give The Barber Lounge another chance. Called yesterday 24 August, and scheduled a same day appt with Eddie for 4:30pm, however he called back and asked could I come in at 2:50pm. After discussing with the wife, I said sure and adjusted our plans for the afternoon. We arrived at 2:45 and Eddie had someone in his chair who he seems to have just started on. I confirmed that he was indeed Eddie as well as confirmed appt time at 2:50; he replied that he was busy but he would take me next. Clearly my arriving on time for scheduled appt was moot. Since the other barber didn't appear to be busy, I asked could he cut my son hair, to which he replied he couldn't due to a scheduled appt coming in soon. Granted, there wasn't much I could do but wait at this juncture, but I still took the moment to express my frustration at the situation. I was taken aback when he said, "Look, you can wait or leave" with no hint of empathy nor expression of even an hollow apology. On the contrary, even after my stating that he called me to reschedule and I even modified my schedule to oblige, he then said, he can’t help if previously scheduled customers arrive late and that I was being aggressive and told me to leave. This is my first ever negative review, but I felt it necessary to post. I don't expect any change to come from this, but I would hope if The Barber Lounge reads this, that they seek an understanding in the difference of expressing frustration as being wholly separate from aggression…AND they consider, just as their customers know THEIR time is money, they should also appreciate the time and efforts customers made to arrive on schedule….so when similar circumstances occur again, efforts would be greater to at least express understanding and the customer patronage is still desired.

Great service!! We take our grandson there for his haircuts, he loves it. They guys are friendly and they're kid friendly. My grandson is now 6 but he's been going there since he was 2. Its a barber lounge but its female friendly as well. They watch their language when we're there. We (my daughter and I) DON'T feel weird going in there with my grandson. He has his favorite but they're all really nice to him when he goes. We'll DEFINITELY keep going!

If you want a great haircut this is your place! They always strive to do their best work. Always trying to make their clients happy when they walk out that door. My kids love getting their cuts here, and so does my husband. Very friendly the minute you walk through that door. Must book appointment since they get booked up pretty fast.
