I’ve been in the Villa Rica area for a while now. When you move to a new area it’s hard trying to find a good church, restaurants and barber. It didn’t take me long to find the food and church. It was hard trying to find a good barber shop that would give me the crisp cut I needed. I usually don’t take barber advice from my wife but she told me a gentleman gave her and my son his card. I usually drive back to Atlanta to get my hair cut week end and week out. I tried several barber in the area they were alright but it wasn’t a crispy cut like I wanted. I’m old school and we all know a good haircut can be a deal maker to a good first impression. It also changes the way a man feels about himself and the way others view you. I was in crunch and needed to get my hair cut for my Anniversary. I decided to give the Groom room barber shop in Villa Rica a chance. I’m the type of guy who would go without a haircut if my barber couldn’t cut it. I walked in and asked for Gary. The brother in the first chair said that’s me. I said I scheduled an appointment with you. He told me to give him a few and he’ll be right with me. He was cutting someone else’s hair so I’m checking out the other guy cut. It looked good but I was still skeptical because he could have been a regular. My time came up and this brother ask me what type of music I listen to and I told him hip hop and R&B. He changed the music and asked me was it ok I told him it was cool. He began to clean his work station and equipment. I got to say this brother is a true professional. He asked me what type of cut I want. I told him what I wanted and what I was trying to do with my facial hair. I really didn’t know but he said I got you and he knew what to do. The brother began to cut my hair and I could tell this brother loves what he do. I can appreciate anyone who loves their craft and enjoys what they’re doing. I can say when a barber loves what they do it shows in the cut. I tell you, Gary this brother can cut and is a real good brother. He was talking to other brothers about men’s health and how we need to take care of ourselves. We all talked in this place where men and women are welcome. He has the shop atmosphere balanced and good for family. When you forget about what you’re getting done and forget about time, you know everything is good. I got to say Gary is a heck of a barber and has a first class shop. He had me looking good for my Anniversary and my wife approved. All I know is Gary and the Groom room in Villa Rica right next to Walmart is my new barber shop. This brother is not only a heck of a barber he’s an artist of two trades. This brother has also past down his trade to his son who is also a good barber. I highly recommend Gary and the Groom Room barber shop in Villa Rica. If you in the Downtown Douglass area he has a new spot right off of Campbellton and Church street. I have found my barber and good brother, come check him out.

I’m only giving this experience 2 stars because I liked the staff. My haircut was not cut in the way I wanted and I didn’t realize it until I washed my hair. I also noticed there was a section of my hair in the back that was not cut at all. The barber did not clean their shears so I had a lot of irritation on the back of my neck which I never experienced before. I had to have another barber fix it all together. I’m attaching pictures of what I requested, the cut I got, and the irritation I experienced from the unclean blades.

I walked in and sat in a seat, and within 5 minutes I got called to sit in the barber's chair. The gentleman was very professional. I went in for my spring cut which includes a lot taken off my beard. With my undercut and beard trim, it took all of 15-20 minutes. I walked out feeling like a million bucks. Thanks Guys, you have definitely earned a return customer!

This was our first time coming here & I was not let down at all. From the second we walked in the door I was greeted, it was an amazing atmosphere & the owner was QUICK. He did a great job on my son’s hair (he’s autistic & doesn’t let many people touch his hair) & numerous people have complimented him. I think we have found our forever barber!

Found my new Barber Shop for sure!!! Gary and the Guys at The Groom Room could not have been better. Gary gave me the best haircut that I have had in years.

Took my son up there today to get his haircut. They weren’t super busy and got him in the chair with a short wait. Shawn got my kid looking fresh again! Thank you Shawn for hooking him up! Well back!

Shawn gave me the best haircut I’ve ever had and I highly recommend that anyone who goes there try your hardest to get him as your barber. Did an incredible job even though I gave him very vague details of what I wanted. If I could give him a 6th star I would without hesitation!

I've been going there for nearly 5 years and can honestly say that Gary is the best barber in the Villa Rica and Douglasville area. His family oriented environment and hospitality makes me feel comfortable. His other staff are very professional and they all treat me like family. The Groom Room is simply the place to be!!!

This is one of the few places in the area that still have that classic barbershop feel. Me and my son have had very consistent results the few times we’ve been here. I personally prefer Mr. Jazz but, you’ll be in good hands with whoever you sit down with.

$35 for a trim & they didn’t even do a good job. Only reason I didn’t complain at the time is because the bright light masked the fact he he didn’t do a good job till I noticed when I got home & had to use my own clippers to finish the job.
