Great spot. The Owner here is awesome and super helpful. He gave me a great haircut and then helps me with U-Haul rentals for my moving company. Easily the best barber shop in Gwinnett County!

The single star is solely due to the conduct of bernard, who identified himself as the owner. My son, who is autistic, has been a customer at this barbershop since December 2021. My son's dad would usually take him to the barbershop, but I recently started taking him because of the holidays. Historically, long wait times have been a concern, as they are particularly challenging for my son. The shop doesn't open on time, and this particular barber doesn't stay on schedule. Despite this, I attempted to continue supporting the business because it was convenient, and the past few times, bernard never had anyone in his chair. He's not the best, but he tries. On this occasion, I initially requested a 12:00 PM appointment. Bernard agreed, then changed it to 3:00 PM. I arrived at 2:44 PM and asked if he was ready. A few minutes later, he stated he was “on the way.” At 3:00 PM, there was still no communication. At 3:05 PM, I again asked to be notified when he was ready. After waiting in the parking lot for an extended period, I went inside to be prepared for his arrival. I was then told he was already there, but he was in the back on his phone. When he eventually came out, there was no apology or acknowledgment of the delay. Instead, he spent an additional 10 minutes engaging in personal conversation and preparing music. At approximately 3:30 PM, I calmly stated that if this was not a good time, I was willing to take my business elsewhere, as we had been waiting for 30 minutes in an otherwise empty shop with no progress made. bernard responded that he allocates an hour per haircut, despite my son only needing a standard mid-fade, which typically takes about 30 minutes. Shortly after, he canceled the appointment. The only message I had received prior was “OMW,” which proved inaccurate. At no point was there professionalism, courtesy, or respect shown for my time or my son. My son did nothing to warrant this treatment. As I expressed my concerns to the other barbers and exited the shop, Bernard held the door open and then closed it in a manner that struck my left elbow. I ignored it at that time to avoid any further engagement. He then reopened the door, made a personal remark toward me, and said, "That's why you ain't got no man," and immediately retreated inside, locking the door. My son is 15 years old and autistic. I am intentional about modeling professionalism, restraint, and non-confrontational behavior in front of him. What occurred was deeply disappointing and unacceptable, particularly from someone in a position of ownership. This experience reflects a severe lack of accountability, professionalism, and respect for customers... especially families navigating special needs. I DO NOT recommend this establishment... especially bernard. He's the short bald-headed guy who has the first chair to the left and flirts with every woman who walks in there.

This was my first time using this barbershop. I took my grandson in to get a shape-up. The barber I made an appointment with was 10 minutes late, but he did call to inform me he was running behind. I showed him a photo of what I wanted, which I will post below. The cut wasn't too bad, but it is definitely not what I asked for. I informed the person who cut his hair of this because, as someone who works in the service industry as well, I felt like he should know. I paid and tipped, but I wouldn't recommend this barbershop based on my experience. The first is what I wanted, and the second is what I received.

Great Cuts. Diversity in the shop is awesome. The Barbers can cut and type of White, Black or Asian. If you care about your look come check these gentlemen. However, it's not a quick process they take their time with each client.

I brought my sons here for the first time today. I was very nervous because of negative experiences I had with other barbershops. All my nervousness went away as soon as I walked in. My first contact was with DJ and he was very professional and pleasant. The energy in the shop was very comforting. DJ spoke with me about what I wanted for my sons and he took it from there. He took his time and make sure my boys had perfect haircuts. DJ answered my questions and my sons love their haircuts. Thanks to DJ, we have our new barber! I HIGHLY recommend Playaz Barbershop to anyone who is looking for a professional barbershop. Ask for DJ. You can thank me later.

Thank God I came back! I came while closed and almost went else where but got too busy. It was my sons birthday, The owner is humble and understanding with customer concerns. AB IS A BEAST! That means his talent and skills with the blades are awesome! My son's cut came out PERFECT!!! Exactly how I wanted and pictured it! I didnt show him no pictures and dont know the any barber terms but it couldn't have been any more sharp and fly!!!! Thank You I found my sons permanent barber and it took 7 years to do so.

The best shop I ever been to. The owner nard has been cutting my hair for years and is the most professional and down to earth barber. My son is autistic and he only wants nard to cut his hair. Great environment and great staff. Would recommend to everyone.

I wanted to first publicly shout out DJ the Barber who is a stellar barber at this shop!!! He was nothing short of upstanding, respectful, personable and of course very precise in his craft!! I do have to point out however the very overt and obvious character flaw in the owner of Playaz Barbershop. Not that it should matter but I'm the mother of two amazing special needs sons. I chose this barbershop based on my mother and brothers recommendation. I took my sons for a haircut this past weekend. DJ the Barber did an excellent job with both my sons by the way. My eldest son (who has cerebral palsy) has never liked to get haircuts and will often times put up quite a fuss. During the cutting of his head DJ was patient, understanding and NEVER show any disdain while my son cried and fussed at times. The owner was at the front of the shop cutting hair and my sister observed his very deliberate and negative reaction to my son crying and even motioned to DJ "to get that under control" (which my sister saw and heard) I will sum up this review and share if it were not for the kindness and wonderful spirit with which DJ the Barber handled my sons, I WOULD NEVER refer anyone to this shop nor take my sons back based on how intolerable and insensitive the owner was to my son this past weekend. The owner needs a heart check!!!!
