If you want a good fade avoid the lady at the very end on the left side (older lady). She has twice butchered my fade. Starts off fine but then quickly can tell she’s not confident at all and both times asked for another barber to help blend the lines of my mid fade I asked for. It’s embarrassing to have another barber essential teach the barber working on you. At one point she said she couldn’t get the lines out and stopped cutting my hair and told me that I need to “go to a Dominican barbershop”. (I’m Caucasian but whatever at least they know what they’re doing) I told her I wasn’t paying for the haircut and she agreed. I was somewhat shocked they let me walk out the door knowing I had an incomplete hair cut and given all the commotion to try and fix what she had attempted to do. Never coming back to this place again. Spend the extra cash and go to a proper barber.

Amy, that big shanty gave me such a great haircut.I just wanted to recognize her.I'm sure the other ladies are great but I don't think that i've had a better haircut in such a long time.Thank you amy

Only place in town for my brother's cut and shave. Busy, friendly barber shop with several barbers and a check in system so that makes it easy to arrive and then get lost in conversation. Oh... his haircut and goatee looks GREAT!

While my husband loves this place, we decided to take our son for his second hair cut and they totally butchered his hair. I asked her multiple times to keep it long and to start off by only taking a little off and we could go from there. She just kept chopping and chopping and never asked if we wanted more off or stopped to check the length. It’s uneven, choppy, and honestly not quite sure what in the world she was doing. Love the atmosphere and the ladies there are sweet, but maybe they aren’t used to doing kids hair? Idk. Needless to say I cried because my son’s hair is so bad now. The pictures speak for themselves.

I brought my little boys here for a haircut. The staff were so very patient with them, and I am eternally grateful for that. The cost wasn't outrageous, the space was clean, parking was available, and I will definitely be bringing them back.

Great spot, tried for the first time today. Amy did a great job cutting my hair, made sure it was how I liked it before moving on and cleaned up my neck great with a straight blade leaving no irritation unlike some other shops I've been to!

Had my hair cut all over the world when I was in the navy and this barbershop is one of the best I've ever been to. Never had a bad haircut and the value and service you get is amazing. I like how quick and efficient it moves, as one of my pet peeves at barbershops is taking too long so this is definitely the place for me.

Amazing!! Friendly and kind. Take the time to discuss what you are looking for in your haircut. I shared a photo with Shannon on how I wanted my hair, and we discussed how the cut could work for me. She studied the photo and we started. Shannon took the time to make sure we were achieving the outcome we wanted. When it was all over….it was protection!! Thank you Shannon, you are incredible!

Big Shanty Barber shop is the place to get a great hair cut. The ladies are always friendly and do a great job every time. One notable thing that makes Big Shanty Barber Shop unique is the southern style hospitality. They offer a neck shave and a hot towel which is very soothing. I also enjoy sitting in the rocking chairs while I am waiting. Located conveniently close to Burger-Fi. Sometimes I will walk over and get one of their amazing custard shakes if there is a wait at the barber shop.

I have been coming to the Big Shanty Barber shop for years. I have had nothing but positive experiences everytime. My kids have all had there first haircuts there. Every barber has always been friendly, polite,and very welcoming. I highly recommend stopping by and saying hi and getting an amazing haircut
