Been going to Joey for about 15 years. He is the best and is always looking to better his craft. The razor shave is what I look forward to every two weeks. He has found the perfect shaving cream and lotion combination that gave me the best shave in years. I arrived looking "wolfy" and left with smoothest face. Thanks Joey!!

Joey has been my barber since 2010 when he was younger prior to owning his own shop. He is amazing and talented with great customer service. I would never go to any one else! He also cares for his clients and treats them like family! In addition, he provides top of the line service with hot towels! His wife Kristine is the other owner and manger of the shop. She also provides great customer service!

I'm originally from the Philadelphia area. I had a barber/stylist/colorist there who was known as one of the best in the area for both men's and women's hair. I was so intimidated when I moved to south Florida, thinking I'd never find that again, but I did! As great as my barber was in Philadelphia, I think Joey is even better. Not only are his fading and scissor skills amazing, but he also takes the time to listen to a client's needs and even make suggestions if you want to change up your look or if you have a photo of what you want. If the look won't work with your hair, he'll take the time to explain why and help craft a look that you'll love and will work for you. His shop space has a relaxed, chill vibe, and Joey is super personable and professional with his clients. I've been going to Joey for over 10 years now and could not be happier!

Joey’s the best barber I’ve ever had, hands down. From the start he actually took time on the first appointment to figure out what I wanted and set a plan to get there, instead of just jumping in with clippers. He's on another level. He knows his stuff, he’s honest, and he’ll work toward your vision while also keeping it real about what your hair can and can’t do. That way, you always end up with the best possible cut. He’s the one I trusted for my wedding haircut years ago, and I’ve been going to him ever since. If you’re looking for a barber who listens and actually cares about his craft, go see Joey.

I would never ever in my life change Joey for another barber. He's been my guy for 13 years, met him through x and was the only good thing from that relationship. He's got a great welcoming, humbling, assertive, compassionate, loving, and endearing heart and persona. I will always continue to support him and would never let anyone else other than him touch my hair. He's given me great tips on helping me with my hair journey and also styles my hair the best. He knows how to cut my hair so my cowlicks don't go crazy and his waxing and spa services are on point too. I love this man and his family as well bc they're just as great as he is

Joey is great at what he does! He is an incredibly talented barber. My partner introduced me to him about 3 years ago and I haven’t stopped going to him since. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a new barber.

A superstar barber & scissor cut master! Seriously, if you need a stylist that can give you a perfect cut as well as a fade… Joey is your guy! He’s a perfectionist and very detailed oriented. I’ve been going to Joey for over a year, and I always walk out of his chair looking exactly like I wanted. I highly recommend getting your next haircut with Joey 💯

if there was a way to give more than five stars, I absolutely would! I reached out as a first time client based on the reviews and photos I found about Joey and Maverick’s barbershop, falling perfectly in line with what I was looking for: someone who had precision scissors skills. I have worn a short textured pixie cut for over 30 years. I have gone to everything from Short Hair “masters” and and well known stylists and never have come close to the phenomenal cut I got from Joey. More than his incredible skills, was the amazing customer service. I reached out for an appointment and indicated that the following day was my birthday and I was hoping for an appointment sooner than later. Immediately his wife answered and booked me the following day. I found out after the fact that they normally don’t book at the time slot they gave me, but he made an exception for me as a first-time client and I cannot tell you enough words how appreciative I was that he did that for me. The entire time in the chair, Joey listened, but moreso he explained in detail every step of the way, the entire process not only what he was doing, but why. Joey has a wonderful personality, and his wife was so kind and sweet and accommodating that there are not enough good things I can say about Mavericks. I walked out of the Salon with such a huge smile on my face as you can clearly see in the picture! It’s one thing for people to complement you on a great haircut but when you actually feel beautiful when you look in the mirror, that’s priceless! Thank you Joey and the Mavericks team.

First off, the friendly welcoming feeling you get when you walk in the door is great. The service is excellent, and the professionalism is on point. However my satisfaction goes beyond that. I gave up on ever being able to pull off a fun hair style years ago, and settled for simple buzz fades that always ended up accentuating the insecurities I had in my hairline. Especially as my hair began to thin out, and my hair line receded more and more. I succumbed to simply shaving my head bald and stuck with that for nearly 2 years now. A few weeks ago I decided I was tired of shaving 2-3 times a week and wanted to try something new. I let it grow out for a few weeks and set an appointment at Mavericks. Joey was the first barber EVER that actually took his time to really look at my face, beard, and hair and could tell exactly how my hair grows and what it could do, and he came up with an idea to work with my balding and simply said “trust me”. Something in my gut told me I could and I’m glad I did!! Today was my second cut with him and I am honestly blown away! The sharp definition and attention to detail is something I have never personally experienced before. The style is a work in progress as more growth is needed on top, but I can see exactly the direction my hair is headed and what it is going to become. Even now I can’t help but keep staring in the mirror. I AM IN LOVE!! Highly recommend this place and most definitely Joey because this man is so passionate about his work and it is beyond apparent!!!

Amazing service from Joe M. and amazing atmosphere by Joe the owner. I came and visited the barbershop with my boyfriend & he’s a new man after his appointment. From the interior design, presence of the barbers, products, and skill. I’ve been blown away, I recommend this barbershop to any man that is serious about his routine and appearance.
