Improved service and the staff there is better than ever. Amazing for kids (make sure you make the right selection if getting a hair cut for longer hair)!

Great service. The barbers are pros and know a lot about hair and how to cut well. I was very impressed with the skin fade I got and would recommend this place over a chain any day of the week! Recommend getting a reservation online as they seem to be pretty busy.

Seems like they are not really interested to work. Even in Dr office you have 15 mins grace period but they cant handle 8 min delay.

Great little barber shop in Arvada (Applewood area). Been going there for years and all of the staff is very friendly. You can book ahead using the Booksy app which is very easy and convenient, it also allows you to book with any available barber or a specific one. I've been getting my hair cut by Rhiannon for years and she is awesome, great cut and super friendly, we laugh and joke all the time. They have what I have started calling their mascot, Lucy, a little female French Bulldog who is super friendly and loves to get pets if she isn't chasing reflections on the walls. If you're thirsty, they have a fully stocked cooler with a good selection of sodas, kids drink and cold beer 🍺!

This was my first and last time here. I went in because of the good reviews and was pretty excited about getting a cut. I asked for a simple modern mullet. very short around the ears, take some off the top, and straighten the back. The entire experience was very poor. I was faced away from the mirror the whole time and the cut only took 5-7 minutes. The job was sloppy and uneven. I did not get what I wanted despite giving a pretty detailed explanation of what I was looking for. It was not short around the ears, and absolutely no work was done on the back. Towards the end of the cut I asked for more off the top and was told that this would need to be a "separate haircut". After that my neck was shaved and the barber cut into the long hairs rather than trimming the small neck hairs. This left it prickly, and a very unnatural transition from shaved to long. After getting home and being able to take a look in a close mirror, I saw that the cut left visible lines on either side and had given me almost a bowl cut. On the back of my neck I had been cut by the razor and had fresh dried blood still there. The haircut was so bad that when I went home I asked my partner (who has no prior haircutting experience) to try to fix it up, and once completed was far better than when I walked out of the shop. I really wanted to like this shop, they have a very cute dog and a great atmosphere. The interior is professional and well done. I would be very happy if the cut had come out differently, but was sadly disappointed.

Booking was easy on the booksy app. Juanita was able to get me in quickly. She was professional and personable. She cut my hair just how I asked. The business is nice with the sports theme. And of course having the pup Lucy there was fun.

Affordable, but you get what you pay for. I'm a short haired male and got a pretty basic fade. My stylist was nice and fast, but the cut came out uneven and sloppy. It's not bad enough that I'm going to pay to get it fixed, but it's bad enough that I'll lean into hats for a few weeks. This would be a great place to take the kids, or even adults who just need a simple trim or lineup. But I'll personally pay a little extra for a more detailed cut from a barber.

New to the area and saw this place had good reviews. Asked for a low fade and got one of the worst haircuts I’ve ever had. Looked more like a bowl cut than a fade. Lady who cut my hair seemed fairly new so maybe it was a one off but I won’t be risking it again. If you want a decent fade I would go somewhere else

I have a beard that I'm very proud of and have been going to the same lady for years. She moved and I had a very hard time finding someone to trim and shape my beard well. I have now been here 3 time with 3 different people and my beard has come out perfect everytime. It is beyond well priced I would even say on the cheap side. And they have complementary drinks for people waiting. This will definitely be my new barbershop. I am bald so I can't say much about the haircuts but if they can work a beard this easy I'd say they could probably cut your hair real good too.

Best Haircuts in town. Best barbers in town. The AVBS has been serving the Applewood area for nearly 70 years now! Since 1954, this barber shop has been in the business and show that they plan to be up and running for many years to come. Having just moved out here 2 years ago, I was in need of a shop like this that treats you kindly and who have a great staff that's dedicated to their clientele. Having been to some of the others around in the area, AVBS tops all of them. My haircuts here are always coming out clean. I've had multiple of the girls here cut my hair, and it's always come out the same. Great consistency. I would highly recommend coming here. It's only $25 for a regular haircut and I promise you won't be disappointed!! Thanks guys!!
