One of the worst cuts I’ve ever had. People were friendly, but the barber didn’t listen at all to what I requested. When I asked him to fix it, they were unwilling to work with me. I had to go to another barbershop to fix his work.

After years of trying to find a consistent place to get a fade, I finally found Fortune Cat. Super cool spot and vibe. Don’t let the tough exterior fool you everyone is extremely friendly! Special shoutout to Zach who listens, takes his time, and very forthcoming with what he’s trying to do in order for you to feel comfortable and understand what you’re getting. Wouldn’t want to get a fade anywhere else!

My first cut with Zach and easily the best cut I've had in years. Great vibe in the shop too. I've been living in Denver for 10 years now, and have been searching for a place like this that actually lives up to their reputation. Highly recommended ya'll.

Always impressed with how inviting Fortune Cat barbers have been to me and the friends I recommend to them. It’s a safe space for queer people and it always has that “kitchen home” vibe. Highly recommend their services!

Fortune Cat was mentioned to me by a friend in the neighborhood. He never used their services, but he thought I might like it because the location is close and the place looked cool & trendy. I figured, why not... In hindsight, I should have NOT gone. This was hands down the worst experience I have ever had. The barber cut more hair then requested, and gave me the WORST clean up/fade ever. Towards the end of the cut, he never offered to hold up the mirror to show his work. So when I got home to inspect the cut, I looked in the mirror and was shocked. Long... uneven... just horrible. I was honestly appalled that he let me leave the shop looking like that. I called and asked to come back to have it cleaned up, and they were nice about it and tried their best, but they still left it long & uneven. I didn't have it in me to tell him that it still looked bad while in the chair for a second time, so I ended up going to a different spot. Recently, another neighborhood friend and I were talking about haircuts for his upcoming wedding, and Fortune Cat came up. I wanted to warn him not to go there. Ironically, he already had a bad experience there. I wish I would have spoken to him instead of my other neighbor so I wouldn't have wasted my time & money.

Highly recommend Zach! He gave me a great haircut and taught me a lot about my hair and the best ways to cut/style/care for my hair and beard. This was the most educational haircut I've received. He clearly knows what he's doing, was very helpful/personable, and gave me a great cut. Thanks Zach!

Highly recommend. The only place I let cut my hair. My hair is extremely difficult to cut because of the shape of my head and because my hair doesn’t lay flat. Aaron or Nick expertly sculpt my fade with sheers and clippers every two weeks. Aaron’s my go-to guy and has been cutting my hair for 8+ years but they’re all legit. Everyone’s very welcoming, fun, and very LGBTQ+ friendly. And, if you’re not in the mood to chat, you can politely tell them and they can just get to work. This is what every barbershop should be.

If you want a high quality haircut by the best in the industry, then I highly recommend scheduling your next cut at this shop. I took my son here in preparation for school picture day and my expectations were beyond exceeded. Barber Zach gave him an incredible cut and has the right amount patience (not easy to cut kids hair) to do a fabulous job. The owner Jesse Diaz assisted Zach and I was completely blown away over Jesse’s knowledge, attention to detail, and ability to explain exactly what direction they were taking with the cut. These barbers not only know their craft so well they are also very passionate about what they do and it really shows. The customer service is top notch 👌 They also had Disney+ on for my son to watch (unexpected perk :) Disclaimer: please If you want to take your kid here make sure you call ahead and specify it’s for a kid and what his age is. They will have to match you with a barber willing and skilled to do a kids cut, not all the barbers there will do kid haircuts so make sure to ask first before scheduling. Also, like a lot of barbershops, It’s cash only so come prepared 😊

Found this place while traveling through Denver and wow! Nick did a great job cutting my hair and I will be returning again. Also loved the skateboard aesthetic of the shop. I just wish I knew it was cash only before going but they have an ATM on site so it wasn’t a big deal.
