Really nice barber shop. Old school experience. They do classic and contemporary cuts. Freddy did a great job. Nice cut and nice experience.

I stopped at Barberia El Catrin today 2/12/25. Let me tell you. Juan took my appointment at 3pm and man, that cut was great. I've had bad experiences with other barbers but gladly I found my solution. Juan. Thanks brother for the talk and the personal medical condition you took time to hear me out. Even see what car I drove incase it happened while there. Will DEFINITELY come back. HIGHLY RECOMMEND👍🏻👍🏻

I was running a little bit late due to traffic on I-N. However, Abraham was very nice and understanding. I booked online and everything was fine until I got to my appointment. It took him 40 minutes to get my hair cut. The facility is clean in Downtown Santa Ana. I will recommend them again.

Personally I don’t like being lied to… I called ahead to ask if there is someone who knows how to make designs. Juan answered the call and claimed he knew. I came in. I showed him the Akatsuki logo from Naruto. He said he could do it. So I took his word for it… Even payed him +$5 per design… on top of the steep price. Don’t get me wrong. The guy did a good line up. But he clearly was going back on his word as the conversation progressed during the cut. I’ve had better design on my head than the one he done on my head. Anyways… not coming here again. This brand has no consistency with its cuts or it’s location at that. I rather save money on the lies, trip, and parking.

Had to get a haircut the day before my wedding and Niko came through! Best haircut I have ever received in my life. All the guys in there were cool and easy to talk to. I would highly recommend going here for anyone that lives in Orange County. If I lived there I would be going back every two weeks. The shop is clean, smells good, and everyone in there creates a positive atmosphere!

Because that is how the shop operates, you made an appointment. Within five minutes of the scheduled time, I was sitting in the barber's chair after being welcomed by him. The store was cool. a good mood across the entire staff. My fading was also clean. I asked for a low fade, but what I got was more of a mid fade, which is okay. Excellent all-around undercut as requested. I would undoubtedly return.

Stopped in today to get a haircut, something I haven't had in 2 years. My hair was pretty long, but the homie Niko came through and gave me a great cut. I highly recommend him for your next cut. Very professional and laid back dude.

Made an appointment because that's how the shop rolls. My barber greeted me and I was in the chair within five minutes of the appointed time. The shop was rad. Positive vibes from all the staff. And my fade was clean. I asked for a low fade and it ended up being more of a mid, but I can deal with that. Nice undercut all the around like I asked. I would for sure go back.

I've been coming here for about three years since a friend recommended it to me. Before then, I'd never had an authentic barber experience - the straight razor shave, hot towel, and post-massage are just really pleasant . All the barbers are great at their craft and super friendly. There's usually a movie or music playing which makes waiting or just getting cut a little faster (my average in the chair is about an hour). Before, the wait used to be crazy long. I used to go on Saturdays at 7:30 to be one of the first in the door to get seated. Now you can set up an appointment on their website which is awesome. If she's available, I'll always go with Capri. A few other things; they usually have complimentary drinks in the fridge, a bathroom in the back, and they sell Suavecito products if you're in need. Cash only, unless they've changed it since I was last there. I'm scared to try other barbers because El Catrin has been so good to me.

I still really like this place. They do great work. But prices just keep going up. First the new owner started charging $5 extra to do a hard part. Now the new owner has started an obligatory appointment system where you get to pay another $5 for the "convenience" of using this system. The new owner may claim that this appointment system was  needed for x, y, and z.  However, there were always a ton of people willing to wait for haircuts.  In reality, the new owner has simultaneously created a solution to a problem that didn't exist and found a creative way to line his own pockets. A sign upstairs reads "neighborhood, not Hollywood."  I would agree that this was the case when I started coming here 7 years ago.  But lately, it seems it's "neighborhood with Hollywood prices." Im trying to send the owner the message that I see through his money schemes and that I see that he is overcharging hard-working people. If you want to help send this message, you should either refuse to use the appointment system OR stop visiting this barbershop until they get rid of it or stop charging for it. Much love for those cutting hair, but the new owner is ruining this place.
