When Sam told me he was moving from the Peninsula up to Dogpatch Barber & Shave in SF, I was honestly disappointed, not because I needed a new barber, but because now I have to build a bi-weekly trip into the city around his cuts. Sam is incredibly attentive and detail-oriented. He doesn’t rush. He takes the time to actually talk through what works for your head shape, hair type, and overall style. It’s not just “what do you want?” It’s a collaborative process, and the result is always dialed in. At this point, I don’t even need to watch him cut. He can face me away from the mirror and I trust he’s going to get it right every single time. His touch is precise and controlled. Clean lines, smooth fades, and attention to the smallest details without ever feeling rushed or heavy-handed. This barbershop is great! It’s nice and clean, welcoming, and good vibes from everyone around. Sam has cut my hair twice now and when he relocated to San Francisco I commuted all the way to him, and that really speaks to his skills as a barber. He takes his time, pays great attention to detail, always gives the most sharp looking cuts, and overall just brings great energy. Shot out to Sam Liotti. It’s hard to trust just anyone with your hair. Sam has always given me exactly what I asked for, and not once has he missed the mark. He listens, takes my input seriously, and works it into the cut every single time. He’s always on time, always friendly, and always professional. A barber is more than just a guy with clippers. He hears about the best and worst parts of your life, almost like a therapist, even though you’re only paying for a haircut. They wear a lot of hats, and Sam wears them all well. Great barbershop, clean, professional and always a good vibe. They run on time and the whole experience is smooth start to finish. Sam’s been my barber for a while now and when he moved here I followed him. That should say enough. He’s consistent, pays attention to details and never rushes. Always a sharp clean cut. I was without an actual barber for the longest going from shop to shop having people mess up my hair. I finally decided to stop by Sam back when he was still with Campbell and this guy does gods work. From our first meet I knew l’d be coming back. He’s humble and the most laid back dude I’ve ever met. He’ll cut your hair exactly how you want it and always makes sure you’re happy with the cut you get. He’s not like those barbers who doze off or don’t pay attention, when he’s cutting your hair you have his full attention from line ups to cutting off bulk, Sam is the guy you want. He’s earned himself a customer for life.

As someone with longer hair, it can be challenging to find a barber who is comfortable with both scissors and clippers. I booked an appointment with Sam and it was perfect. He gave a nice consultation before, kept up the communication throughout the cut, and I left knowing I found my go to spot and barber. Highly recommend Sam
