Fellow Korean writing. I’ve never really paid attention to people writing bad reviews before since I simply thought they would be irrational customers but I guess not. I had gel on my hair putting it up before visit, he says he can cut hair with gel on so I trusted him. I showed him the video of myself with haircut I want. I told him to do number 2 on the side, make it straight up on the side, no need to cut hair on the front and make hair on the top short and that was it. He says, I’m too complicated but I was okay with that but I felt weird. He started cutting my hair on the side and I could see a patch of right side got shorter. I told him I think that there is a patch that is shorter than the rest and might as well cut the sides shorter. I didn’t care much, I just gotta make it shorter in general. He goes on sprays lots of water on that side spraying so much on my face, wiping hair that has gel and just wipes it on my face. Says he doesn’t know what I’m talking about and soon enough tells me that he is not capable of the job and tells me to leave, leaving my hair like that. My hair is half done, just the sides with a patch of shorter part on and tells me to leave. I do not think this was right. I don’t know if it is just him working there but whether he was not in a good mood or what, he is not a good person.

7/24/2025: I had been looking for a barber around here ever since I moved and came here off of a recommendation. I was told it wouldn't have cost me as much as the other places which are charging $40 to $50+. Now I wish I had never even come here. I wanted to get something simple, an undercut with the top of my hair left alone. Instead the owner decides to go with something else entirely and I don't realize it as he takes my glasses off. He already shaved a chunk off the back of my hair before I could even bring up how I wanted my hair. I offered to show a picture and he told me it was too late. He then tells me to choose from a list of hairstyles on the wall. I chose "B", an undercut hairstyle with a good amount of length to style, that would have been something I prefer. He then says that the "B" haircut and the "J" haircut are basically the same. They were not the same. While the "B" was an undercut, the "J" was a high and tight haircut. I couldn't tell what it looked like until the end after everything was said and done. If you have an idea of what you want your haircut to be then go anywhere else. This place charges $30 for a haircut but I would have rather preferred those places that charge $50 because at least they would have listened to what I wanted.
Owner's response
He didn't cut hair for 2 years and got hair cut and wanted short. Maybe, the style B was too short.

Since there is one barber there is a slight wait depending on how many people are before you. Another lady helps clean up and there are two chairs, so it's pretty efficient. I had a great first experience here. The barber knows how to cut hair. Edit: They accept cash, Venmo and Zelle, which is nice. I've never had an issue at this place. The barber is very consistent.

Jay is the #1 barber in town. Large space with room to self groom and best price as well. Always has current movies playing in waiting area as well as in front of each chair. Very nice family owned and operated business. 5 years customer.

I have been to many barber shops in and around LA county even out of states. J cut is on my top 3 list for great service and awesome hair cut. I am really picky with hair style and It is not easy to cut but he makes it look so easy and quick. He has numbering system for the length of hair you want. mine is six. it works out perfectly every time.

The husband and wife duo is perfect. She preps and charges, and he cuts like a master. And there pricing is great. They have a lot of clients, so be prepared to wait. When I was there, he had 7 people before me, so I was there for about 45 minutes watching doctor strange in their comfortable sofas. And they accept Zelle, Venmo. Really good experience. Note, they don’t have a sign up sheet, so just keep count of who is ahead of you.

If you don’t want to pay $40+ for a cut out in the valley anymore come here. J charges $20, + a tip(up to you). They were polite and gave me what I asked for. A low fade and trim on top. I’d recommend showing them a picture, their english isn’t perfect. Simple, fast and you are able to wash your hair on your own afterwards no extra charge. This will be my new spot.

This place seemed great, tv in front of you to watch. But the one and only barber there, I asked him for a MID bald fade. And this is what i got. Its a high fade and the fade has long hairs that werent cut. Not a bad cut but not what I wanted, I know how to explain my haircut to barbers so not sure how he messed it up. Prob wont go back
