Worst haircut I’ve had in years. The woman cutting my hair took the clippers and went straight from my forehead back when I asked her to leave length for styling. Shorter in the front than it is in the middle or back and the fade is uneven. I’ll be looking elsewhere next time.

Meli is INCREDIBLE. THE BEST color i’ve had in a long time!! she is so sweet, she listened to exactly what i wanted and even stayed late for me. the color turned out incredible.. i will definitely be going back ASAP when i need a touch up. if you need any color (or honestly anything at all) meli is your girl. thank you meli!!

I just had my first haircut in 10+ years. I had a great experience with Meli. She listened to my requests and did an amazing job. The shop was nice and tidy and overall it was a great experience. Thanks so much, Meli!

Was looking for a barbershop out in Mission Viejo and gave this barbershop a chance. Walked in and the overall atmosphere was great. The shop is bright and very clean. Alex is the barber I went to and he honestly gave me a better cut than my barber back home. Highly suggested!

This was an experience that I am happy to have stumbled upon. I arrived to Mission Valley for work on Sunday late afternoon without having gotten a haircut prior to my arrival. I called a few local places, but given the time, I was not surprised that no one wanted to accept a walk in. Unfortunately, I was unable to get an haircut early Monday morning due to work. So, upon leaving work Monday evening, I had resigned myself to buzz my head with my beard clippers When I returned to the hotel. And this was where serendipity occurred. I checked my phone to ensure that I was walking in the correct direction and to decide whether to buy pastries before realizing I was within eyesight of Ambitious Edge Barbershop. So I went in. I was greeted warmly and fortunately, one of the remaining barbers was willing to take me as a fairly late walk in. Cool dude! Alex was his name. He asked what I wanted. I responded “to not look like a balding bushman”. He said, “Bet, you gonna let me do my thing!” I agreed and was supremely pleased with the cut! I even said, “I’d have sex with me now” because I looked so good lol! Then we started chatting about hair products. I was not particularly interested in purchasing hair products, considering I don’t have much hair. Alex noticed my reservation and then asked if I liked any of the hats they had...and I did! So I bought a green hat to match my cream and green outfit. Ended up getting a discount on the hat for taking a pictures wearing the hat while posing in a one-handed handstand in front of the shop logo mural. Was awesome! If you need a cut in Mission Valley, go to Ambitious Edge!

Desere hook it up with a nice clean low drop fade taking just enough off the top to clean it up. Super nice friendly person with great conversations skills. For all my Marines I give my approval she’ll do a great job get you in regs with a super clean low fade

Norma is the best! I’ve been coming to Norma at Ambitious Edge for over a year now, and I can honestly say she’s amazing at what she does. Her haircuts are always on point, and she has a great eye for detail. Beyond that, her personality is what really sets her apart—she’s fun, friendly, and just great to be around. Every visit is something I genuinely look forward to. If you haven’t been to see her yet, do yourself a favor and book with Norma ASAP. You won’t regret it!

My kid didn’t like getting haircuts before as a kid but Alex made a difference in my kid’s experience he was patient and fast. Now that my kid has grown - he only wants to get a haircut by Alex. Thanks for making a positive experience for my kid and I from a mom that struggled with kid getting haircuts before 😊

The Ambitious Edge The haircutting experience. My barber was The Fonz! A well dressed snappy family man who learned how to cut hair in the marine corps. Atmosphere: 5 stars. The place has a clean and neat Black and White motif. I like the look of the gold-bronze clipper I first mistook as trophies. Plenty of light and a view of Costco Wholesale across the street. Service: 5 stars. The Fonz is Cool! A really great barber is not just a cutter of hair but words as well. Empathy and Sympathetic listening. Well dressed like an instagram fashion model. Quality: 5 stars. I got the cut I asked for. I am very satisfied given what the barber had to work with (my hair the way it is). Value: 3 stars. Men’s haircut is $35 which is sort of the nation’s average. Not counting the tip. So I would not consider “Ambitious Edge’s” prices cheap or overly expensive but industry standard. I left feeling clean. The experience of having my haircut was relaxing. I could feel the stress leaving my shoulders. There is something about vibrations on my head that relaxes the nerves. I felt like I got plenty of attention and good conversation.

Came here for the first time and I already know that I am going to be a regular from here on out. Great service and very professional. They got some great guys here at Ambitious Edge. I got a cut from Matt and he is very skilled. I definitely recommend their haircuts.
