This is a vintage-vibe three-chair, hole-in-the wall shop with a lot of period decor. I booked a razor fade and shave online with Rudy. I showed up on time. Rudy was a genuinely nice guy and experienced barber. He gave me his full attention. This included politely turning away several walk-ins rather than rushing my job. He gave me the cut I asked for. He checked in at each stage to make sure the details were to my liking and that I was comfortable. No complaints. I paid for the haircut and tip in cash. I left looking good and feeling good!

Love this place! I have been going here for years. Rudy is my favorite Barber, but Sweeney is pretty great, too. No nonsense, very relaxing. The only downside is cash only.

This place is great! All the barbers are really nice and great at what they do. The atmosphere is absolutely incredible, I'm always more than happy to spend a little extra to come here because of the 50's vibe and aesthetic through the whole place. If you want a great haircut, great service, and a great vibe? This is the place to go!

I’ve been going to Todd for over 10 years (since 2008!!). It takes me over 30 minutes to drive to him when there are barbershops near me that I could walk to. So I think that says it all. The shop is like a trip back to a better, cooler time when men were gentlemen and women, ladies. Great vintage vibes, cool music, great work. 5-Star shop!

A Los Angeles staple. I’ve been coming to Sweeney Todd’s for over 3 years mainly for a mustache trim. Every time I leave, my mustache is trimmed to perfection. I book with Rudy and now that I’ve been going for a while, we have great conversations. I appreciate the care and pride that each barber takes in their profession. Great shop, great people, great cuts.

Thank you Aaron!

Had a fantastic cut and shave with Ben. I highly recommend him and the shop. Vintage 40s feel. Great service. I’ll be back when I’m back in LA.

I'm gonna start by saying this, what an amazing experience! This place is a throwback to when customer service was still a thing. Prior to my visit I hadn't done any research on the place. I didnt realize they were an appointment only barber shop and I was in need of a quick quality haircut. They were able to fit me in with no problem or any super long wait. The big man that cut my hair is an artist and blew me away with the quality he provided. If google had an option to give 10 stars I'd give them 11. Absolutely incredible place. Keep doing what your doing guys!

Amazing barbershop! Traditional 50s styling and has been here since 1947. Barberchairs are very comfortable and the barbers are professionals with decades of experience.

Owner's response

Thank you sir!

I've been coming here for years, will be coming back for years. I can't speak more highly about the haircuts or the staff. The online reservation system is a big step up from the old chalkboard and wait. I can understand why some might question needing to go online at all or the strictness of the late policy, but this system saves me a lot of time and dissuades people from taking up spots that might have worked for my busy schedule.

The atmosphere was amazing and it felt like I was taken back to the 1950s...music and all. Frank cut my hair and was really helpful because I didn't know what I was going for when I came in, but he did an amazing job. The only negative was when it came time to pay, getting change for my $40 on a $23 haircut was a struggle and made them seem unprepared. In the end, I would still recommend this barber shop to anyone wanting a quality cut for a reasonable price.
