I want to change my previous review from a 5 star to a 2 star. Jakes is extremely expensive for the most basic haircut imaginable. They have been raising their prices for years. Yeah, when its was $30 for a cut, that’s fine, but they are so ridiculously expensive for a little and honestly run down shop like that. They’re commanding PREMIUM prices you would expect from an upscale barber shop and even salon. Not going back here anymore. OLD REVIEW -2023 Pretty good local spot, I’ve gone to almost every barber shop in Eagle Rock and this is by far the best one. Expect moderate prices but for the quality of work they do, they’re really good

Carlos is great! My 15 year old son came in for (what he thought) would be a great new haircut. It wasn't lol. Carlos delivered, but gave my son the option to come back IF he decided he didn't like the new do. Carlos was more than helpful in cleaning him up. We have been here a few times in the past and will definitely continue to come for the service.

I was a customer's of Jake's for many years and met Carlos when he was in the process of buying the business from him. Carlos has taken care of the Shop like Jake would have wanted him to. I am always 100% satisfied with the cut I get. Carlo's has a good staff they all know what they are doing and won't let you down.

Just got my four year sons haircut by Max and he was awesome! Max works great with kids and kept the conversation going on interesting while we waited. My sons hair looks great. He asked what we wanted and double checked with us throughout the haircut to ensure he avoided giving us something we wouldn't have been happy with. Thank you for everything Max, well definitely be back to see you soon! Update: my son is now six years old and we have been coming to see Max ever since my first review. This shop, Max, and every barber here are awesome! Well continue to come here for my six year olds haircuts and as soon as hes old enough, my little one year olds haircut. Thank you Max, you're wonderful!

I love the atmosphere here and the friendly banter between barbers. Max cuts my hair just how I like it and really works out every detail. Makes great conversation too. If you’re looking to book easily I’d recommend using the Booksy app

Such a good experience! They're consistently booked so you have to make an appointment. They check your temperature before you come in and they're spaced out so you're not crowded with other customers. I got a cut by Beau and she killed it! Went from a shaggy pixie cut to a faux hawk with clean sides. Will definitely be coming back for more!

If you are like me and you have been looking for a classic 💈💈💈 barber shop 💈💈💈 , Jake's Barber Shop is it!! Junior gave me a perfect skin fade finished wish a straight razor shave of my neck and around ears. The real deal, talented barbers and not too crazy with the price. Will definitely be going back.

Junior was awesome. He will literally tell you what he is about to do before he does it and make sure you are completely happy with every aspect of the cut which is not something most barber does but makes all the difference. Basically read my mind by answering my questions throughout before I even asked them. Extremely satisfied with my cut. Highly recommended.

Honestly always got a good cut, but lost me as a regular, due to the fact that the wait time is way to long, I once waited an hour and a half, and STILL waited an hour for the hair cut itself, because these guys are more busy talking rather than cutting. Don't get me wrong its cool that they can converse and keep people entertained but when you constantly stop and make hand motions, its poor multitasking. just please hurry with my cut, price kept going up and the experience wasn't getting better. Their prices definitely not worth it. I go to my new barber get the best cut and only wait 20min before and during.

My first time at Jake's Barber Shop and I came in with a picture to show them the kind of haircut I had in mind. Unfortunately, the haircut I got turned out to be quite a bit different and I wasn't too happy with it (I didn't realize it at the shop with all the product they applied). Fast forward a few weeks. I went to a different barber shop with the same picture and this time, I got exactly the cut I wanted. Of note, the barber there commented that the sides had been cut unevenly when I told them that I wasn't satisfied with my last haircut. What I liked at Jake's Barber Shop was the atmosphere. The back-and-forth between the three barbers was fun, they are a talkative bunch.
