I started going to Hector around November 2024 and stopped toward the end of 2025. I want to be fair here cause he’s a genuinely a friendly guy, and when he’s focused, he can give a good cut. My first haircut with him was sweet, which is why I kept going back. But over time the consistency just wasn’t there (and I was a big tipper, like $10-$15 always). After a few visits it felt like he got too comfortable. He was sometimes on his phone or distracted, and the attention to detail dropped. There were multiple cuts I wasn’t happy with, and one time he cut off WAY more than I asked for. Several different encounters like this. I only kept going to him because the location was convenient for me (next to the village). I don’t think he’s a bad barber or a bad person, but my experience as a repeat client was hit or miss. Just being honest so others know what to expect.

Hector is an excellent barber located next to the village at USC. He is a great conversationalist and has a very fair deal considering his skills. Highly recommend him!

I found this shop inside of a bus expecting to be a brick and mortar. To my surprise it is a custom made barbershop inside of a bus. He parks near campus, so it is accessible. He is not the best, he is just blessed. I like the haircuts here and I think the wait is worth it.

Hector was an incredible and most blessed barber I know. I found him because my roommate told me about him and I 100% recommend it! I thought it was inside of a store but it’s inside of a bus so it feels more comfortable. It’s open to many topics of conversations, food, culture, so it’s such a vibe. He enjoys talking about anything! Very old school feel with a modern look! My haircut was incredible for such a reasonable price!!!

Hector did a great job with my hair, he was very kind, and in a great spot right across from the fire station by USC. He did a middle part for me which turned out great and I definitely recommend him to anyone because of his expertise, location, and experience.

I had pretty tough Asian hair and Hector knew what to do with it right away. Nobody’s ever known to stick to scissors before. Gave me food recommendations too. Great cut.

Awesome barber! I’ve been going to Hector for over a decade, and the cuts are always great at a VERY fair price. These days he runs his shop out of a yellow school bus parked outside Trader Joe’s at University Village. It is appointment only now, so just give him a ring and no need to wait in line!
