Highly recommend. Great group of barbers and LAPD back atmosphere. Gets busy though so plan accordingly

Solid cut in a place with an old school atmosphere. You just walk in, ask for a haircut, and sit down. Overall positive experience, price wasn't the worst ($40 for buzz with taper)

I’ve been going here for the past few months, since I moved into the area. Jeff has done my cut every time, and I’m thrilled with his work. He has great attention to detail and the cuts always grow out well. Best cuts I’ve had in years, thanks Jeff!

Jeff gave me a great haircut! This place IS historic Atwater Village (since—I think—1947). Friendly, casual, no appointment needed. I take my dog to Darla’s Dog Wash, then go to Atwater Barber Shop for my own “grooming” while my dog gets the works at Darla’s. My haircut is about $25, and I tip $10 (hey, my dog costs almost 3x that!). So… go get a haircut! You’re lookin’ like a bum! Eastside RULES, so support your local businesses!

Solid haircuts! It’s insanely hard to anticipate how long you’ll spend at this barber shop because they don’t have appointments. I’ve spent up to 3 hours here waiting/receiving a haircut. If you are looking for a quick cut, look elsewhere. If you want a chill spot to have a coffee/beer with good music while you wait for your cut, this is the spot.

Lived in Los Feliz/Atwater for 15 + years. Can't believe I have been sleeping on Atwater Barber Shop this entire time. Walk in's only. I was greeted immediately upon entering. Super chill music beets playing and easy relaxed vibes. Love the vintage space, they have been in business since 1948 and it has that old timey charm. Jeff welcomed me right away, there was no wait at the time and we promptly went over some photos I had for reference and he went to work. I have Curly hair I am working to grow out on top and fade to a zero/1 on the sides. I've been having trouble lately with barbers taking too much off the top and I cant get those curls to grow out. This pic is with my hair more strait as I had a hat on before I went in to the shop but it is such a great cut, super clean in the back and around the ears and he cleaned up my hairline along the neck as well. Will be back to see how things go over time but super excited to have gone in today.

Excellent and timely service. I wanted my shaggy head of hair cleaned up and Julie did a very good job at that. I would recommend providing a picture of what you want your hair to look like, such as an older photo of yourself.

Just went to Julie today to get my hair cut. She was super sociable the whole time, but most importantly got my hair just the way I wanted. I walked in with a helmet of hair and she helped clean it all up. I will make this my new regular shop!

Eric, the barber, is the best!!! You get the most detailed cut. The other barber, please forgive me for forgetting his name, is also a talented barber. The shop is old school - traditional chairs, striped barbershop decor outside and a community feel. Love this place.
