I’m calling this a salon rather than a barbershop because my haircut involved no scissors at all—only a comb and trimmer. I waited close to 2 hours (Sunday rush) for my turn, and the actual haircut took about 10 minutes at most. I want to be clear that I’m not saying everyone here is like this—I’ve had good haircuts at this place in the past, which is why this experience stood out. I specifically mentioned that I had an interview the next day and was looking for a professional look, and I asked for suggestions. Unfortunately, no real guidance was provided—just options to choose from, followed by “it’s just preference.” I tried to explain the style I was aiming for, but I felt I couldn’t really get through. Overall, this visit felt rushed and lacked consultation, which was disappointing given my previous positive experiences here.

Been going here for a few years. Never had a bad cut. They're open 7 days a week which is a huge perk. Cam is my regular barber but literally everyone is good.

Poorly managed. Went in for the first time today. Every seat for a haircut was occupied and they had nobody manning the front desk. I looked for a number to take. There wasn't one. No barber said anything to me. Or if they did, I didn't hear it. I sit down and one guy comes in after me and looks at a clip board on the desk. I get up and one of the barbers tells him "Don't worry. I got you." When I read the paper, it says "Put in your phone number and don't wait." There were already several people waiting and the sign on the wall says "First come, first serve". I sit back down as the paper was filled with numbers and there was no room to write a number even if I wanted to. Another guy comes in and a barber says to him "Can you sign in please?" So now I realize in the span of 1 minute of being there I already now have 2 people ahead of me that came in AFTER me. The barber didn't say a damned thing when the guy was signing the paper "The guy behind you was in here first." Nor did anyone say "You have to sign in" the TWO times I went up to the desk. I'm not about to get in a confrontation with someone over a clipboard, so I left. First time in there, last time in there.

Great experience. I came in from out of town for orientation for a new job. I walked in and got an amazing beard trim. Great ambience and the Barber took his time and paid attention to detail!

Has been my go to barber shop in Lake Forest for the last 10 years... Everyone here has a great attitude and know their business well. Add to that, the banter that goes on here constantly and the place reminds me of a group of best friends getting together just to have a good time... The barber work seems to be a bonus. Lol... Keep up the great work!

Not a good haircut. I've been going to Golden Crown for 5 years, and prior to today, I would have rated 4.5 or 5. I'm no longer living nearby but have still driven to go here. After today, I won't be going out of my way to come here. Today, I asked my barber for a 2 1/2 on the side, and they used a 1 1/2. The barber did not ask how much I wanted trimmed from the top. No question about whether I prefer squared or rounded on the back. No question about trimming my eyebrows. I practically felt non-existent as the barber chatted with the other barbers, paused for a few minutes to do a Google search for a game title, and even perused their phone while running the clippers against my head. I don't expect a chatty or exclusive conversation when I'm getting a haircut, but I do expect attention-to-detail. I should have said something, but the barber was new. I also respect the pronouns people choose to align with their identity. In this situation, it wasn't evident, and I didn't want my disappointment with the haircut experience to be misconstrued as related to the barber's gender. I simply paid, including a 20% tip, though I usually tip 30%. A day later and I realized the cut was even worse than initially thought. Now I'll be looking for a barber nearer to where I live.

Price and walk-in service is good. However, they are more into socializing with coworkers than making customers comfortable. I have heard them talking about customers in a negative way multiple times.

Been going to Golden Crown for years, had tried many other barber shops before and no one could match their quality, consistency, and price. i trusted them with the cut for my wedding, along with all my groomsmen, and everyone i️ recommend come here makes this their spot. just try it, and bring cash.
