It's a Great traditional Barbershop. Not with Hipster prices either! They take walk ins. I've used Three different barbers there. The owner is a wonderful bubbly woman, who's Dad opened the shop. He's still cutting hair there a few days a week and he's in his 90's. I go to see Hang now. She's a great barber.

95 year old owner Jerry Sandlin is a legend - with 6 decades plus of experience. Maybe 7. Served in the Marines. I'm honored to be a customer. He's a true gentleman, soft spoken, and can still cut hair PERFECTLY. I hope I can stand for 9 hours per day at 95. Mimi is also SUPER TALENTED. CREATIVE. DETAIL ORIENTED. She shaves the hair on my ears with surgical precision. She has given me the best haircut I've ever had (and I lived in NYC for 45 years). Traditional barber shops rock.

Jerry is the absolute best. I’ve been having my haircut with him for the past 5 years and have no desire to get my haircut anywhere else. He is funny, personable, and a total pro. Mimi also does a wonderful job and has a joyful soul. Every time is a good time at the Grand Barber Shop. Jerry will be getting recognized by the Mayor tomorrow for his many years of continued excellence. If you want a great cut with good people and for a reasonable price, this is your barber shop.

$35 haircut, no shampoo. I asked for simple, it's complex. I asked for an 8 on top and a 4 on the side, but now the top is 2 inches long and everything is off-balance. Not worth the price, even if the shop has good character

Jerry absolutely gives me amazing haircuts. I always enjoy hearing him talk about his life, and seeing him so healthy and active. This place reminds me of going to the barbershop when I was a kid, it's an amazing experience and the prices are more than fair. Long Live Jerey

I recently just moved out of El Cerrito and sadly discovered this place after only a few visit. It is a great barber shop that has the feel of the first barber shop I remember going to as a kid with my father. Jerry has tons of experience and does a great job (my haircut is pretty simple, but people have made mistakes) and the prices are great. The place does not accept credit cards though so make sure you get cash (plenty of banks and ATMs nearby). Would definitely recommend it, and I may travel back every so often to a haircut there as well.

I really like this place. It's an old school barbershop style place. Rosa has cut my hair a few times now and she's often able to let me know ahead of time if she is busy or if I can just walk in and get a haircut right then and there. I highly recommend it! The use of the strait age razor was new and is actually quite nice! The prices are particularly reasonable too!
