I scheduled my appointment for a particular day. When i arrived to the barbershop, the barber was gone for the day. To be transparent, I made an error of the appointment time. I asked if an exception be made by rescheduling my appointment given that I've been a very loyal customer for 3 1/2 years. I was informed that I can reschedule but required to pay another haircut fee. Furthermore, I was accused of being tardy for all of my appointments which is clearly untrue! I can accept the barbershop rules, but I will not accept falsehoods about me. In some cases, I've had to wait for an additional 10-15 minutes to receive my cut despite arriving on time. I never had to post a unsatisfactory review about an establishment, but whenever you make an accusatory claim that is not factual, it doesn't suit well with me. With that said, I will never go back to this shop. Congratulations, you've lost a 3 1/2 year customer.

I see Linda every 2-3 months for my trim and blow out.(She's also a barber but is an amazing stylist too!) My hair is fine and wavy and usually so difficult to find someone that knows how to cut my hair properly. I usually get trims meant for women with pin straight hair. Linda always does a fabulous job blowing it out too to where the style last a few days. If you have fine hair you already know that's a miracle in itself. The place can be a "drive by or you'll miss it" and there's only metered street parking. My recommendation would be to book midday or go on the weekend when it's easier to find parking. The bus also intersects here conveniently if you're a bus rider!(The #1 and #6 Culver City). The shop has you prepay but you can also pay inside as well.

True Men Barbershop is the only place I trust for a haircut in West LA. The barbers are welcoming to everyone, and the cuts are consistently top-tier. Big shoutout to Ian for always getting me right.

Iāve been to True Mens barbershop twice now and unfortunately my experience has been less than ideal other than the very kind staff. I have short fine 3b curly hair and have been growing it back since a buzz cut. My first appointment, I showed a photo of how I liked my hair to be cut and the barber cut it far shorter than shown in the photos on the top, back and high up on the sides. It looked good for the first few weeks, but grew back extremely poorly and strangely compared to how it grew post buzz. I have an event coming up and needed a haircut asap and assumed trying a different barber would curate better results. I thought I didnāt provide clear enough instructions and information last time and so I explained with photos Iām growing my hair into a natural fro and just need a clean up and want to keep it long on the top and in the back. I again, showed a photo of how Iād like it to look with hair kept long high on the sides, top and back with minimal to light fading on the bottom of the sides and back of neck. During my cut, the barber was very aggressive with the comb causing massive shedding and essentially taking layers of hair off my head. The top hardly cut and I still see split ends immediately after the cut. My sides and back were faded to almost the top. Essentially given a completely different haircut again, but worse and now my hair will be ruined for the next few months if Iām lucky. I will either be getting a buzz cut after my next pay period because I paid $60 for this experience with a tip before seeing the results since you can only pay online or be wearing a hat for the foreseeable future. Seeing where my hair was 2 months ago before going to true men compared to now is night and day. I would not recommend true men if you have any 2 or 3 wavy or curly hair, I saw them cut 4 curls and it looked great, but my 3b curls are ruined. The staff is unbelievably friendly and great to talk to about anything, I immediately felt welcomed and engaged with everyone in the room which is what I believe half of the barbershop experience is about. Iāve been searching for a barbershop with this environment since moving here, but the quality of my cut strongly discourages me to ever go to true men again. .

Love this shop! Been taking my kids here since 2022. I love that itās a black owned barbershop in the nice area of Culver City. Their hospitality is welcoming. My kids love their cuts and their barbers. This review is long overdue. Highly highly recommend 10/10!

I was happy to find a decent barber to trim my beard. She took her time, asked questions, and considered what I the consumer wanted. REFRESHING! I initially had to wait 30 minutes as it is a book online barber. She was kind enough to slide me into her schedule and gave me beard grooming and conditioning tips with the products I already used. I will be back!!

Hey Anthony, Thanks for your review. We look forward to servicing you again<br>

I came in for the first time yesterday afternoon for a haircut with Linda. When she was using the clippers on my neck, it felt a bit aggressive but I didnāt think much of it at the time. However, when I got home, I found I was bleeding all along the neck line, above and behind my ears, and on my temples where she had used the clippers to define the hair line. I am not prone to razor burn and have never had anything like this happen before. The photos I attached are from the next morning, and you can see a bright red line on my neck. Now I have to worry about scarring and infection. I donāt know if her technique was wrong or the clippers need to be serviced, but I absolutely would not recommend this place and donāt trust them to not cause injury. I really wanted to like this place and thought the haircut itself was fine. For $60, I donāt think you should expect to be butchered.
