Winnie is the BEST! Have been going there for a few years now, very professunal, reasonable pricing and accepting walk-ins. Also taking my kids here and they love getting the candy as a treat. Will definitely keep using her service services.

I've been coming here over a decade when Cindy was the owner, I'm sad to hear that she's retired and also that the new owners have let go my favorite stylist Lana. She now works across the street if anyone's looking for her.

No frills, easy, affordable, quick, and good quality haircut. Can't beat that. If you're looking for something fancy or want to get pampered, this isn't for you. But if you just want a simple, great value cut, this is the best you'll find. Walk-ins only, cash only. My go-to place. I'm a male with short-ish hair, I ask for scissors only and they accommodate.

I have enjoyed the artists at Heads Up Hair. They have always asked me: "How would you like your hair? Do you like it long or short?" I have watched as each artist attends to the size, shape and wishes of clients. I have watched as each artist makes sure the client gets their personal wishes.

I've been coming here since 2011. I use to pay $75 for a haircut in the city back then, but Lana has been cutting my hair ever since. When she isn't working, Cindy has it covered. The point is, it's really nice to be able to see the same people over time, and they remember how you like your hair cut after a while. Highly recommend this place. They are often open before the stated time and parking is free.

I've been coming here since 2016. I always go with whomever is available and have never had a bad experience. Very nice ladies and they do an excellent job. I don't know why haircuts are so expensive in the Bay Area but Heads Up shows that you can get a good haircut without breaking the bank.

If you like Chinese style haircut (long hair on top / short sides) that might be place for you. Price is $20, usually hair cute is done in about 6 - 8 minutes, so don't expect to be a very nice and proportional cut. But if you don't like that style don't try to ask for something different because they simply don't know any other styles.

If making your hair short with cheap price is the only thing you want, go to this place. But if getting a right hairstyle is important to you, never go to this place because they don't listen to what customers ask for. I had a specific hairstyle I wanted, so I showed a picture of it and clearly asked this is what I wanted. But she took a look at the picture less than a second and started right away with a clipper. Because the very first clipping already made my hair much shorter than I wanted, I didn't have time to stop her. Eventually now my hair is way way far from what I expected. I know I shouldn't expect too much from $16, but you should at least pretend to listen to what your customer is asking for. I'm giving 1 star only because there is no option of giving zero.

This is a hidden gem for haircuts in Berkeley!!! I am a woman with straight shoulder length hair and went in for a trim, Cindy was professional and did an excellent job on my haircut with very clean edges, the perfect length and just the right amount of face framing. Not to mention my haircut only cost $18! I really feel and look like a million bucks. There was only one other customer in the salon at the time and they were far away, and the windows and doors were open for airflow. In addition all stylists and clients were properly masked. If you are in need of a trim I definitely recommend this shop, especially Cindy!
