The only reason that I’m giving the shop, a five star review is because I can’t give it seven. Marissa is a rock star. Great haircut, attention to detail, and customer service.

I was driving and saw this place, so I decided to try it out. I asked to have my head shaved with clipper, beard trimming and beared edging with a razor. I ended up getting my face all red AND irritated from using the razor with no cream or gel! Over priced (~$63 plus taxes plus tips!)

From reviewing your photo, shaving cream is present though we understand that irritation can still occur for certain skin types.<br><br>That said, your comfort matters to us. Marissa is the best barber, she is the only one I trust to cut my hair. I even let her trim my beard which I’ve had bad experiences in the past. She does a good job and has a lot of funny jokes.

Vanessa did a great job. Easily a top 3-5 haircut I’ve ever gotten. She made really good conversation as well. 10/10 would recommend.

Makiah cut my hair, and it was one of the worst salon experiences I have ever had. She appeared to be in a rush from the moment I sat down, and the entire haircut was finished in under 15 minutes, whereas every other stylist I have seen typically spends 25–35 minutes on my hair. Throughout the service, she was noticeably rough. When I asked her to ease up, her response was, “This is how I usually do things and no one else has ever complained,” and she made no effort to adjust her technique. That attitude, combined with her demeanor, reflected a serious lack of basic customer service. She did not attempt to salvage the situation at any point. She continued to rush, never asked whether I liked the cut, and after our initial negative interaction, she did not speak to me for the rest of the appointment. The atmosphere was tense and uncomfortable, and she seemed irritated and disengaged the entire time. The quality of the haircut itself was poor. There was no attention to fine detail or styling, and the end result looked sloppy and unfinished. For someone who states she has been cutting hair for 11 years, the skill level and professionalism were far below expectations. Maybe she was just having a bad day, but that does not excuse this level of service. I will not be returning to Diesel, and I hope Makiah finds a way to develop a more professional approach to both her craft and her clients.

So I showed up 930 when it opens , no one was there, sign was lite up saying open and door locked. They did get thier at 9:51 21 min after they are supposed to open, and thats cool, life happens was not a big deal. Checked with her they could do me at 11 but i had a Dr appointment and ended up making an appointment for 12:30. I show back up early 12:10 and wait for my person as they are with another client, all good. Then a walk in comes in, he walks over to him and says he does not have time, then said wait and then moves my appointment out, while I am sitting right there for a walk in. I ended up walking out and drove down to another Barbershop off flw and shea. I've been here twice before and thought it was a decent shop, need a beard touch up every 2 weeks and all. I won't be back, that was rude and poor service. -edit- thank you for the reply, to clarify it was 15 minutes not 5, and the perso. Who walking in , i was listening to them talk, he was scheduled ahead of me and I was lushed back. He was just finishing up with a guy in the chair. The walk in got next spot when they adjusted my time. Thank you for the offer, I ended up finding another barber (Garys Barber off flw and via linda) and am actually very pleased with them, I never would have went to them if this had not happened. So in a way it all worked out. Thank you very much for the reply though I appreciate it. Hopefully this helps and is an opportunity for your staff to grow and learn better customer service.

I have added a free beard trim to you account if you ever want to try us again and we hope you do.<br><br>That morning started off unusual and while life happens, the responsibility is still on us to manage communication and flow better. When you returned for your appointment, there was a breakdown in coordination between staff. To clarify, the walk-in was scheduled after you. <br><br>The barber did not realize you were already seated and waiting so he could have just updated you. Your appointment was shifted by 5 minutes due to the fact that he was running slightly long with the current client in his chair. That said, we should never make a client feel overlooked, especially when they’re right in front of us.<br><br>You were right to expect better clarity and respect for your time, and I’m disappointed we missed the mark here. Diesel Barbershop McDowell Mountain Village is a great place for a haircut. Clean, reasonably priced, with a welcoming staff. The star of the show, however, is Hannah C! She has cut my hair for several years, now, and is the BEST men's stylist that I've ever had. She is always on time and does a fantastic job on my hair. Hanna is not only friendly, she is quite knowledgeable and you can tell she tweaks her cut to match the season: I love that she cuts a bit more off the sides and back during the hotter months to make it more comfortable against the heat, leaving it a bit longer during the winter months. She is always checking to make sure that she goes above and beyond to make the cut perfect. Highly recommended!

I have been going to Hannah C. for over 2 years and she is awesome! My hair has never looked better due to her skills. She is always keeping up with the latest techniques and up and coming trends. Hannah is very meticulous and steady handed with her razor work. Hannah makes everyone feel comfortable. She is also a great person! Thank you Hannah for keeping my hair courtroom and camera ready!

Ever since moving to Arizona a few years ago, Hannah has consistently taken care of all my haircuts. She does an INCREDIBLE job providing consistently high quality haircuts. I love having someone I can count on to deliver a great haircut and Hannah takes care of me every time. I’d recommend her and Diesel to anyone and everyone in need of a great haircut for a great price.

I’ve been getting my hair cut by Hannah for a while now, and I can honestly say she’s the best I’ve ever been to. She takes the time to listen to exactly what I want, gives great suggestions, and the end result is always spot-on. Every cut is clean, consistent, and looks even better than I pictured going in. What really sets her apart is how much care she puts into her work — she’s not rushing through it or doing a one-size-fits-all cut. You can tell she really knows her craft and loves what she does. The attention to detail is unmatched. Whether it’s a quick cleanup or a full style change, I trust her completely.
